You mean, a politician that stays bought? Hmm, 'cats might fall in that category. If you have enough celery to buy them off in the first place.

Stop it. There is no such thing. We can suspend our belief in the laws of physics without much difficulty when reading the Honorverse books, but "Honest Politicians"? That's just trying to stretch credibility too far. You might have an honest representative, or even an honest government, but anything that calls itself a politician as a title is by definitian not honest. |

I've been thinking that if Treecats are ever alowed to join the RMN/RMA, what jobs could they do? Well to my way of thinking the could be the ultamet jack-of-all-trades, the perfect non-specialest specialest. They could work in intellegence assisting in prisoner interagation, assist in search and rescue aboard battle damaged ships and assist with combat repairs by conducting damage survays in small tight places that a human couldn't get to. Booste crew moral by being cute and adorable and being petted to death. Assist in boarding actions. Help with phycological damage after rescuing personel from pirates.

Looks like Treecats are going to start needing pulsers. Once the crooks figure out what a threat the cats can be to their chosen lifestyle, they will need a way to reach enemies beyond claw range.
They might also need armor. While I'd like to see all-up military combat armor, some sort of tactical/SWAT armor would be better than nothing. Duchess/Steadholder Harrington has plenty of money to set up a development project for Treecat armor and weapons... ---------------- Don't open that!! It's the original can of worms! |

Drummer.
Keyboardist. Guitarist. Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense |
