Semi religious Joke,

Man goes to church/temple/etc every day to pray to win the lottery. He does this all his adult life, he is now old and frail seldom goes out except to church/temple and he says, it be 60 year I don't have much time left please let me win the lottery.

And lo and behold the skies open, the angels sing and a voice on high says:

" I will grant your request you just have to do one small task"

"Anything!!!!' the man cries with joy....

and the Voice says "Meet me half way, buy a ticket first!"

Speaking of which:-

A blond go to the doctors wearing a set of headphones.

Doctor you've got to help me if I take off these headphones I'll die"

The doctor looks at her "don't be silly, just take them off"

So the blond does and immediately starts gasping and choking.

The doctor grabs the headphones and puts them back on, and the blond starts breathing normally again"

The doctor leans close to the blond to listen to what is being played over the headphones and faintly hears

"Breathe in, Breathe out, Breathe in, Breathe out"

Hi All this is definitely a lack thereof,

It is my sad duty to report my seventeen year old cat kitten was killed in a tragic accident, Kitten was featured on my first site Christmas card:

Hope you and yours have a merry one. PS thanks for recommending Dragon Naturally Speaking in your FAQs,I figured if a professional used it I should, but I use it's read feature more than its typing.

And Merry Christmas back to you. And raise you a Happy New Year, too!

She was sleeping in tall grass that I was mowing and, was my mother's cat I took in after her death. Perhaps she wanted to return to mother, sigh. I feel awful, guilty, and glad it was quick. At seventeen she had a long life for an outdoor cat.

Hi Pokermind,

Please accept my condolences.

Our dog Henry, "a full blood mongrel" when people asked what kind of dog he was (actually a collie-sheepdog cross, but we didn't know that then) was at least 17 years old when he passed away with few teeth left and an irreparable broken shoulder, but he was also a member of the family; mother said he had better manners than us kids, since he came running for dinner when she just called his name and snapped her fingers three times.

I'll admit it was fun to watch how far he'd come sometimes. :D

he obviously had great hearing for things he wanted to hear, unlike a lot of cats, I understand. ;)

He lives on in all our wonderful memories, and I'm sure we'll see him again.

Naturally since heaven wouldn't be heaven without him, I expect all our sentient pets to be there waiting for us, where our communication will be divine.

The very best wishes always.

Hi all

I'm too depressed yet to be funny, if I ever am, so a simple report. French artist Genkis has two new maps

http://www.deviantart.com/art/Map-of-the-Honorverse-372009150

http://www.deviantart.com/art/Honorverse-Starmap-372007527

As thumbnails too small I won't include.

Mange, <What do you get when you cross a Honorverse treecat with a Safeholdian catlizard?>

Chief, "Either a lazy treecat or, a confused catlizard?"

<Close but no cigar, the people are practical so you get nothing except a dissapointed catlizard.>

<Chief, you let us get on page two again!>

"Sorry, got a joke?"

<Sure, you two-legs go into the light at the end, and the people follow you going into the dark, true?>

"Yah?"

<So why do you two-legs hog the light?>

"Don't know, why?"

<Like younglings you're afraid of the dark!>

"Hey that's personal, you six limbed walking flea circus!"

Hmm,

Perhaps the first streak drive GA ship should be called Nike as in British English in means a training ship, see below and, in American English track shoes for the speed of track shoes.

petercharters wrote:Surely Nike should be a training ship?

[ok, maybe that's a bit UK English - I think you call "trainers" or "training shoes" "sneakers" over there :) ]

PS petercharters later suggested the first spider drive ship be named Nike:

petercharters wrote:Alright, an Americanisation then :)

Nike was announced today to be being refitted with a spider drive to become the first of Manticore's new sneakers...
