This is the latest I've seen. Not sure it's the final version. Remember, The Devil's Opera closely parallels the time frame of The Saxon Uprising. There's not a great deal of overlap between the two, but you'll see a few of the events in TSU from different locations and different eyes.

The story begins not long after the events of the story "Elegy", and ends around the same time as TSU.

The United States of Europe, the new nation formed by an alliance between the Swedish king Gustavus Adolphus and the West Virginians hurled back in time by a cosmic accident, is on the verge of civil war. His brain injured in the war with Poland, the USE's emperor Gustavus Adolphus is no longer in command. Enter Swedish chancellor Oxenstierna, a leader of aristocratic reaction against democracy. In a few days, PORTAL will be published. That's the concluding volume in the Bemmie trilogy that began with BOUNDARY. Ryk and I are now working on a novel that takes place in the same setting but is placed about two centuries after PORTAL, so it's no a direct sequel.

In June, the next Heirs of Alexandria novel comes out. That's BURDENS OF THE DEAD, which is partly a sequel to MUCH FALL OF BLOOD and partly a parallel volume.

In October, the next 1632 series novel comes out, 1636: THE DEVIL'S OPERA.

In January, Iver Cooper's volume in the series comes out. That's 1636: SEAS OF FORTUNE. It consists of two braided short novels, one taking place in the northeast part of South America and the other (mostly) in California.

As far as work in progress goes, right now I'm working on the next volume in the Harrington universe. The working title is CAULDRON OF GHOSTS and it's simultaneously a sequel to TORCH OF FREEDOM and SHADOW OF FREEDOM. Once that's done I have to finish a novella for Bill Fawcett's next CLAN OF THE CLAW anthology. After that, I'll be writing a novel with Mike Resnick titled THE GODS OF SAGITTARIUS.

Meanwhile, David Carrico is working on the first draft of THE SPAN OF EMPIRE, which is the third book in the Jao series. Chuck Gannon is writing the first draft of a 1632 series novel set in the Caribbean. Walter Hunt has finished the first draft of 1636: THE ATLANTIC ENCOUNTER, which I'll finish after Chuck finishes the draft of the Caribbean book.

And I'm probably forgetting something...

Sometime this summer, we'll start releasing a series of 1632 e-books. These will be compilations of stories and articles which appeared in the Gazette (although some of them are extensively rewritten ). There will be two types of e-books. One type will reissue stories that were serialized in the magazine but were never included in paper editions of the Gazette because they were two long. The other type will be compilations of non-fiction articles on the same subject (or closely related group of subjects).

These will also be available in paper editions on a print-on-demand basis.
