One of my favorite line ... in the first chapter of Ashes of Victory, Hamish is wondering, "Why in Christ's name can the woman never bring a ship back intact?"
What a chauvinist! LOL!

The emphasis was on the word that, not her gender.

Spoiler Joke

Image

Mange, <What’re reading, Chief?.>

Chief, “About the Meusans in House of Steel. No wonder no one invites them to dinner.”

<Oh?>

“Yah, read this:”

Medusans produce a strong 'stomach acid' which they expelled over their food, then massaged it with their hands before squatting over it to eat it. This makes cooking their food mostly unnecessary. They can go for longer periods without feeding than a human can, though they grow gradually more torpid as time passes.

In Medusan culture, the touching and handing of partially digested food to other members of the social circle was a gesture of goodwill.

<What’s so bad about that?>

“Didn’t your mother tech you not play with your food let alone some one else’s?”

<Nope my mother was not a two-leg, but my litter mates taught me not to touch their food. I got to mention that having one squat over his food to regurgitate on it before handling it kind of grosses me out.>

"Well if they ever recruit Medusan Nomad Marines let's not invite one to the Chinamans."

<As long as he's buying I wouldn't mind.>

"You have no class!"

"Hmm, more people are interested in the rules than a pretty face by a factor of 7 to 1, more are interested in movie actresses than jokes by 9/5, and more people are interested in Humor than missile defense by three to one."

<Is that what you mean by there is lying and lying with statistics?>

"Kind of. Proves the perverts here would rather ogle pretty face than read a joke. Perhaps I should post more art like this:"

<Simple round boy you all start out as by the book Midshipmen.>

Views per post also reflects the rate of posting. I don't imagine the rules thread sees very many posts, while this thread gets posted in quite frequently...
