Chief, "Why are treecats suspected as traitors in the war?"

Mange, <This is an olde by Admiral Waref but I'll play along, why?>

"When asked about the war situation all the treecats answered it was 'bleek'."

<How many two-legs does it take to catch a fish?>

"I know I'll be sorry, but how many?"

<Just one, but it takes forty others to decide if fishing is ecologically sound, what the seasons should be if ecologically sound, and a group to decide just what the catch limit should be. Ah, two-legs the stupidist of the creatures.>

"Hey Mange that's personal."

Mange, <So Chief what's happening in the Honorverse?>

Chief, "Well discussion of a trap to kill Honor Harrington like the Japanese Admiral Yamamoto who was ambushed on old Terra during the second world war. There was one response that begs a question:"

In The Yamamoto Option Thread Mitchell, Esq. wrote:
I never said wacking Honor would be EASY...

I said people shouldn't be using proprietary technology known to be used only by one power.

If you are going to wack Honor, you may need to assassinate her the old school way...

Maybe get her into a duel?

"So I wonder with the treecats becoming citizens, well kind of, if a treecat like Nimitz were to challenge a challenger to a duel, and since no firearms for treecats exist if it would be bare hand to a six limbed buzz saw?"

Mange, <Kind of two-leg hamburger? Might not be bad I understand two-leg tastes like pork.>

"Just so. Well at least we don't taste like chicken."

Let's try something different. Why don't we try to create nextgen characters based loosely but as logically and closely as possibly upon comicbook superheroes.

To start with - Wonder Woman
Diana Cachat was born upon the Amazon island of Themyscira on the planet of Torch. Due to her families close ties to Torch royal family, and the prominence of her mother in Amazon subculture, she was often referred to as Amazon princess. During her development it quickly became rather obvious that her strength, speed, agility and stamina, as well as her instinctual grasp of martial arts and tactical processes bordered on superhuman, but with who her parents are, what would you expect?
When she came of age, she was entrusted by two specific pieces of prototype technology - A supestealth personal lac equipped with cutting edge miniaturized ftl drive, and automation that allowed her to fly without needing any crew, and L.A.S.S.O lie detecting and coercion device.

Honor was shocked to discover that, while she'd been supposedly "dead" on the prison planet Hades, James MacGuinness had married a Grayson woman, and fathered a son named Richard. Now, years later, Mac wanted to retire and had prepared his son to take his place at Honor's side. The inventive lad had even developed a special belt with dispensers for hot cocoa and celery, a music player with Salvatore Hammerwell's entire catalog, and other useful gadgets. "Yes, Your Grace," said Mac, "I've trained him to be your Batman!"

Hi dscott8,

The Honorverse RMN term is Steward not Batman. Here we see another divergence between the British and the American English Language. In British English a Batman is an American Army orderly and vice versa, the USN has Stewards I don't know if the British have another term, or if Batman is the correct term in British English, but if so I'm sure one of our friends across the pond will let us know. To an American Batman is a cartoon Super Hero.

Mange, <With prolong he probably looks more like Robin all of fourteen!>

Chief, "These old TV videos on Grayson are corrupting you Mange, or should I take Admiral Werrf's suggestion and rename you 'Snarks to Admirals'?"

Just woke up, and see the pun in dscott8's joke American Superhero Batman, and the British term Batman, my bad,

Chief, "Hi all doing a little website hopping bringing one of the funniest serious comments I've seen over from Baen's Bar Honorverse. A hot and heavy discussion on assulting worm hole junctions:

Howard T Map-Addict wrote:Barflies have been reading Honorverse for many years now.
All those years, each and every one of them,
many of us, including Weber and Flint, have been proclaiming to
the Bar and to the whole world:

"All novelists are liars! Every word in their novels is a lie."
And also
"Lies, not being based on Truth, need not be consistent.
Therefore, attempts to derive further truths from statements in a
novel are doomed to futility."
And even
"What is said in one novel might be contradicted in another novel,
or in another part of the same novel, or even the same paragraph!@"

In WoH there is a place where six (6) SPDs enter a paragraph,
and all five (5) of them leave it.
This is the Mathematics that Weber gives us in Honorverse books.
Anyone who is repelled by it, should give up Honorverse, and read
Euclid's Geometry and Newton's Princepia Mathematica.
Or else read Weber's Hell's Gate, in which he allows his story to
be bound by Earth's distance measurments. Some of us find this our
Favorite Weber, for just this reason.

Mange, <Does this mean that all the other threads are jokes?>
