Obviously makes slow dancing interesting). There are not any well know actresses that fit the part. However; there are plenty of struggling young actresses who are struggling because they do fit the part. I suspect that the studio will discover such a woman and make her career.

If you really want that much height, as opposed to the easy solution of casting everyone else short -- there are plenty of guys who can act well and are shorter than 5'6" -- and you also need someone who is physically fit and accustomed to being somewhat aggressive -- start searching the ranks of college and professional women's basketball teams, especially center and forward.

Of course there are always serial actors like the James Bond Franchise. CPO Poker Mind

That's a good idea. As much as I'd like to see a young actor in the role, it is hard to believe that someone that young has the acting chops to pull the role off.

Read again, please, and note that 35 was my absolute upper end. Ideal would be someone around 23-25 with 5+ years of featured acting record.

And for those who have said needs to be able to "be agressive", I trained academically in the theater, and worked around professional theaters (not film, though) before the Service. Believe me, enough agessiveness is not an issue with most young actresses; it isn't an accident that most don't have children until they have learned not to eat their young.

Just watched John Carter of Mars and spotted an actress who would be superb as Honor Harrington.

She s tall, dark haired, exotic looking with high cheek bones, and she can do the physical fight scenes very well.

Smoking hot babe too!

She's 35 now. You'd like at least some chance of doing sequels without recasting.

Hi all,

David Weber is still unsure if the movie will be made. They have to find the investors, and right now people are squeezing their quarters till the eagle screams. David gave his choice actress in the Q&A Michael Sawa provided us:

Note the movie discussion is in the last three 6/8-8/8.

David's choice one of the women on the old TV show Babylon V, but noted she was too old now. David further noted any choice would not allow Honor to remain ageless, but suggested starting the series half way through then bringing a new actress to play the young Honor.

Since I don't know what arrangements might have already been made, this might go over like a lead balloon. However that having been said, the Marvel Comics folks seem to finally have managed to create good movies that actually fit the existing franchise.

Perhaps Stan Lee is a Honorverse fan? Heh.

I haven't read all the way through to see if this actress was suggested for Honor, but I think Tia Carrere would be a good choice. Granted at 5'8" she is about 6 inches to short, but there aren't that many actresses of Asian descent that are 6'2" tall so some Hollywood movie magic would need to be applied.

Never mind, I just noticed on her website that she is 45. While she could pass for an older, more mature Honor, she is definitely out for playing a younger Honor.
