"Hey Mange Honorverse Humor or lack thereof is getting near the bottom again."

<The denizens here are mostly technophiles not humorists, chief. Well I heard a funny story that occurred on Manticore.>

"Oh?"

<Leaf Catcher was helping to interrogate the Soli POWs and one had a pet Terran dog that he helped interrogate.>

"So Leaf Catcher had to run up a tree?"

<No! But the dog had fleas and some migrated to Leaf Catcher's fur.>

"I don't imagine Leaf Catcher found that funny."

<No, and neither did Soul of Steel's guard for when Leaf Catcher ran around the Royal compound after the first flea bites the guard called a full alert looking for an invisible assassin they thought Leaf Catcher was trying to tell them about. But Soul of Steel finally found out what was happening, and calmed them down. Leaf Catcher and the Dog both got a flea killing bath, and Leaf Catcher was as happy as any wet treecat!>

Alright then.....

The Avengers, Solarian style.

Black Widow - Crandall, aka toothless tarantula. a spy who gets caught every time, doesn't know one end of a gun from another, and while everyone else around her is speaking multiple languages, is yelling at them to 'speak civilised, dammit'.....

Captain America - Filareta, aka Admiral oppression. A big, tough sounding man, not afraid to whine and moan until he gets his way, while telling his opponent to fight fair, with a shield that cracks at the slightest impact. Never needed to be cyrogenically frozen, as his mind is already 60 years in the past.

Hulk - Byng, aka Bully. Always angry and looking for a fight, coloured purple from his constant apoplectic rage. When not fighting, is supposed to be one of the biggest toughest men out there, but when not resorting to sneak attacks, is laid out with a single punch by a 10 year old.

Cant think of the ohers right now, but have fun choosing your own for the rest of the team, and dont forget fury.... =D

@spacewiki you are making a list of heroes or antiheroes?

Because I dont like the comparision since I think is an insult to the marvel comic heroes, and I sort of grew up with them.

Hi all,

My nice sent this one although not Honorverse related it's kinda cute:

"Hello, is this the Sheriff's Office?"

"Yes. What can I do for you?"

"This is Floyd, I'm calling to report 'bout my neighbor Virgil Smith. He's hidin' drugs inside his firewood! Don't quite know how he gets it inside them logs, but he's hidin' it there."

"Thank you very much for the call, sir."

The next day, the Sheriff's Deputies descend on Virgil's house. They search the shed where the firewood is kept, using axes, they bust open every piece of wood, but find no drugs. They sneer at Virgil and leave.

Shortly, the phone rings at Virgil's house.

"Hey, Virgil! This here's Floyd. Did the Sheriff come?"

"Yeah!"

"Did they chop your firewood?"

"Yep!"

"Happy Birthday, buddy!"

I'm doing the Solarian heroes. they are anti heroes to the GA, but supposedly heroes that represent the best of the SLN for the solarians. After all, wasn't Captain America Created during World War 2 as a sort of morale/propaganda tool? I am saying that my idea is a satire of the avangers, from the solarian side. there is no reason someone cant do the same for the Mesan alignment or the GA. In fact, feel free to do so.

It wasnt supposed to be an insult. if you took it that way, I apologise.

The best humor IMO comes from the novels themselves. For example, here is a passage from AAC:

"Well, Sir Thomas," Honor said cheerfully, "if you want something to give you real nightmares, you might consider that hexapumas—which, you know, are just a little bigger—have exactly the same sort of claws. Of course, their claws tend to be eight or nine centimeters long. Which is why we Sphinxians never go into the bush unarmed."

"Your Grace," Caparelli said, "if I were a Sphinxian and knew about hexapuma claws, I wouldn't go into the bush at all!"

"We do lose the occasional tourist," she said, straight-faced.

I wonder what will happen if hexapumas ever develop a taste for celery?
