Tell me she doesn't look a lot like Honor! Yes, I know she'll be 47 by the time the movie comes out- but that's what prolong(Hollywood makeup) is for. From what I have read, she can move like Honor as well.

Er...a bit on the tubby side, no?

I'd agree that her face looks fine, but she's far too curvy for Honor.

I'll say again, looks should be secondary to acting ability. Looks are important - whoever they cast should at least be tall and athletic - but acting ability will be FAR more important.

Emma Watson? Not in the budget.

I think we're back to Maggie Q, but I'm not sure how her PETA activism would sit with DW

Okay folks... This is my wishlist for the cast:

Honor - Gennifer Goodwin
Alister McKeon - Chris Hemsworth
Samuel Webster - James Marsden
Scotty Tremaine - Johnathan Lipnicki
Horace Harkness - Daniel Craig
Earl Whitehaven - Michael Fassbender
Rafe Cardones - ??

I know there would be issues with Ms. Goodwin's height and the cost for these people might be a bit off budget, but hey... it is a wishlist.

Thoughts?

Yeah, but not Honor herself. C'mon!

For Emma Watson, money for the first film would not be an object.

IF, IF, she wanted to be th face of the franchise, and IF, IF it is successfully translates as a mass audience sci-fi movie franchise, taking a meager salary for the first film would be a modest investment for something that could carry on in perpetuity like Star Trek or the Bond franchise.

Now, she physically is not the type. She is 5', 5", and not remotely Asian. That would not matter to the mass market.

She can certainly act. She is yound enough to convey the prolong concept. She would bring a curious audience unfamiliar with the Honorverse. If nothing else, it would sell more books.

Odds are they will go with an unknown or relatively unknown actress. But, she definitely COULD do it.

Exactly - I love curvaceous women, my desktop wallpaper cycles through Christina Hendricks, Nigella Lawson and...well, you don't need the whole list - but curves just don't work with Honor's personality. She's a fitness fanatic who has to stuff herself with waffles to fend off starvation, and whoever is cast should at least have an athletic build.

I just had an image of an actress looking at the stack of waffles and mug of hot chocolate from the breakfast scene with Hamish in IEH and thinking to herself, "gotta nail this scene in one take or it'll be hell in the gym."
