Well it will be impossible to find an actress with all the right qualities, so they could just change Honor into a man (he did say something about being surprised by one of their suggestions . . .)

There are PLENTY Amerasian actresses around. But for me it is the size plus female gender that matters. I know she is a terrible actress (and old and washed up) but as far as looks go the young Brigitte Nielsen at 6'0½" (looking Red Sonja buff I might add)is sort of what I envisioned for Honor. Current actresses that seem to have every other quality seem to be missing that 'rock you back on your heels' imposing physical stature that Brigitte had. The nearest I can come up with is Gina Carano of Mixed Martial Arts fame. What I would like to see is someone like a big Rhonal Mitra. If I was going for a more Asian look I might consider Moon Bloodgood at 5' 10" from Terminator Salvation. http://assets.nydailynews.com/img/2009/ ... odgood.jpg

I had a crazy idea: Summer Glau.

1. She looks about the right age.
2. Excellent actress capable of portraying complex characters AND handling action sequences.
3. Though she has no Asian ancestry herself, she does look slightly Asian anyway.
4. Has mostly worked in sci-fi shows, so it would raise the film's profile among exactly the sort of people who will like this film anyway.
5. It's about damn time she got a leading role.

could be an interesting choice, has the right physique, maybe a hair old, decent voice, some acting experience (currently working on Percy Jackson & the Olympians) plus a little star power/fame from the mma world

Thought I'd post my own suggestion.
I think I might have an excellent fit here:

Strong-featured (square face, and notice the cheekbones!) yet beautiful and very INTENSE.
I liked her a lot in Thor.
I guess standard filmmakers' tricks could make her look taller, and I'd personally say they'd have Honor at that point.
That's more or less how I picture her anyway.
