Just a thought, but if CGI was to be used like in avatar, you could just chose the actors/actressess without having to worry about age or height, because that could be fixed through the CGI. And if the CGI was as good as in Avatar, the uncanny valley would be avoided as well. And it would allow a much closer matching of the actors/actresses to their characters, as the CGI could be manipulated. Might be a bit more expensive then trying to find unknown actors with talent who look extremely similar to the character, but would probably be worth it imho.

No they didn't! I have a copy of the film on DVD (purchased it 6 years ago, spine-code VINT0063, released by the American Video Collection label, film apparently made in 1990) and I can say that there is NO CGI in it at all. Or any great SFX for that matter. Several notable uses of stock footage of the shield flying through the air, etc.

Or did you mean the modern remake film?

Captain America The Movie DVD box-blurb wrote:
During World War II, a brave, patriotic American Soldier undergoes experiments to become a new supersoldier, "Captain America." Racing to Germany to sabotage the rockets of Nazi baddie "Red Skull", Captain America winds up frozen until the 1990s. He reawakens to find that the Red Skull has changed identities and is now planning to kidnap the President of the United States.

Edited for spelling.

I think that is roughly the way to go anyway, especially with science fiction space operas like this. I wouldn't use well know actors where this sort of CGI is used (no preconceived notions of the $$$ actor $$$), and additionally I think "motion capture" is mature enough now (the dead eye concern). My lone "little" suggestion would be to go for a full on-court press and simultaneously come out with a corresponding graphic novel that matches and expands the movie's story board.

My vote for Honor Harrington is Christine Chatelaine from the steampunk webisode series Kingdom Falling. She is a young talented unknown with the right look and toughness for this kind of part.

I hope this movie is getting closer to being a reality.

Good point. go the whole hog and add a graphic novel, and you might increase DW's readership numbers by a huge level...... or is that just wishful thinking?....

You know, there are all these ideas for who could play who, yet we haven't named a single actor for one of the most important characters in the entire series. Who will play Nimitiz??????

There is only one actor for Nimitz: Andy Serkis (Gollum)
