Well, other than her age, my first choice for Honor would be Claudia Black. I belive she has the size and looks that are very much Honor. but i am rather biased because i believe she did such a great job as Officer Aern Sune on Farscape. My only real issue with her for the role is that her voice is far from a saprano.
as for suggestions, i believe all but one are great for Honor. i must side with David on the opinion of the first actor suggested for the role. I cant stand that person myself. There were a lot of good suggestions. but in the end, if there is a movie version of Baskilisk Station or a series. I am sure the producers will put considerable thought into whoever IS chosen and in the end, that person will probably exceed our expectations, who ever she may be. |

Claudia Black is a good actress and very experienced with Sci-fi (She was one of the most memorable people in Babylon 5, after all). the problem, however, is that if Claudia Black is cast as Honor Harrington, chances are that we'll actually end up with Susana Ivanova, despite her best efforts. While that would be interesting, it might have a negative effect on how the film is received. Interesting idea, though. Keep them coming. ~~~~~~

Wrong Claudia, Friend. Susan Ivanova was played by Claudia Christensen. Claudia Black is known for her roles in Farscape, SG-1, and even a minor role in the first Riddicc movie. She is tall wish black hair and some mildly asiatic features. Born in NSW, Australia, she also has a bit of the type of accent i imagine a Spinxian would have. (in my mind, Manties all have various Brittish Accents. I pictures those from Manticore with actual Brittish, Sphinxians as moree Aussie, and Griffons as being Scottish, anyway, that is the way they sound in my mind. ) Claudia Christensen, a beautiful woman and a great actress in her own right is too light, too short, and too non-Honor. And she can do a near perfect Russian accent. To me, She would be more suited to Shannon Foraker. |

Epic Fail. You meant Claudia Christian http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0160004/ Seriously it takes all of 10 seconds to look these up on imdb. Now let's just hope that I don't fail with the quote... |

Once again, too much blood in my caffeine system.
I watched Farscape when it was first on. I was underwhelmed by it and gave up. Guess that's why I never really locked onto the names of the actors/actresses. I'm pretty bad with names anyway. And faces. Oh well. These things happen. I still think that a CGI-type film would be best. That way, voice acting becomes the most important thing. And British actors/actresses tend to have some theatre/classical training, thus making them better for voice-based roles. And they can do better accents. Don't believe me? Watch "House". Hugh Laurie naturally has an english accent, but you couldn't tell from watching House. Compare to "Jeeves & Wooster". Same actor, totally different accent. Still totally believable. Opposite end of the spectrum, Flash Gordon. Watsisname who played the titular character was so bad vocally that they had to overdub every single one of his lines. Okay, it somehow adds to the narmtastic charm of the film (being so bad it's brilliant), but it is an example of how vocal acting skills are at least as important as physical acting. Query, didn't Claudia Black appear in SG-1? Or have I got the name wrong again? ~~~~~~

Her recurring role in SG-1 was my favorite in that part of the series. I think that she would be very entertaining playing Kevin Usher's wife Ginny.

Ginny strikes me as the kind of person who can keep quiet when there is serious work to be done, and who can dish out unrelenting teasing when there is time to play. Fran Drescher can do the dishing out, but I can't picture her ever keeping quiet. |

The first suggestion I've seen that'd do Honor justice. Unfortunately it's unrealistic :P
