Having recently finished Uncompromising Honor, I thought instantly to look for a sequel; possibly a finishing touch to the series. The hints about Fleet Admiral Harrington's potential to become RMN First Space Lord were hard to dismiss, and the thought of her running the whole show later on was irresistible.

If such a sequel happened, I'd look for Manticore and friends to locate and demolish, eventually, the creators of Nanotech, the Alignment, and a possible uprising by remaining/outlying Solarians (not sure if all the baddies there got demoted :P). In it, I'd expect Harrington to rise to the occasion, ruefully, but yes... and further. It might be possible for her to even become the Queen of Manticore, should the efforts against the Alignment become so devastating that, well, someone had to drive, to keep it going. Nanotech is tough stuff, and was so well hidden that early on, the only way to find out was to sort of ask folks if they were bad guys - whereupon the infected simply died. This would ordinarily not be an ideal goal, and the sequel would dwell on this, a bit.

All that said, I'm finding the funds to buy the whole series now, possibly on a tablet. Great fiction!

FYI, essentially the sequel was To End in Fire
Basically merging the mainline story and the Crown of Slaves spin-offs back together

While I wholeheartedly think everyone who can should buy a copy of every book, most of us do have funds constraints.

Every Honorverse book up through Mission of Honor is on a copy of the CD which shipped with the MoH hardcover. A free downloadable copy of all those CDs is here:

RFC said "refitting a Beowulfan SD to Manticoran standards would be just as difficult as refitting a standard SLN SD to those standards. In other words, it would be cheaper and faster to build new ships."

I don't quite appreciate you for hypering into the Forum and teasing me like that! :D

The idea of Honor as First Space Lord gives me a grin brighter than a thousand suns! I know the author isn't a spring chicken. But he can sure milk that cash cow for all it's worth! And that speaks volumes… and volumes of new books! :D

Anyone disagree? Come on! We have a thread lurking around here somewhere titled, the, Honorverse Top Ten Tacticians and Strategists.

The idea of Honor looking into a Holotank and ingeniously reading the data and moving pieces around the galaxy tickles me with glee. Glee I tell you! She's an Alpha! We all know she will flawlessly read the data and throw spanners into every enemy’s plans. And she'll know exactly what OOB to send where and when.

I entertained a thread about Honor becoming Queen in another thread as well; eating up the Opposition with genetic awareness and insight. I need a cold shower now. I'm all excited.
