China's Three Gorges Dam

According to NASA research, this redistribution of water could potentially : ・Shift Earth's pole position by about 2 centimeters ・Slow down the planet's rotation ・Increase the length of a day by 0.06 microseconds. I am shocked. Stunned. Dumbfounded. Anyone else find this incredible? . . . The artist formerly known as cthia. Now I can talk in the third person.

While studying biochemistry 55 years ago I saw what happened if an organism in an enclosed environment (petrie dish) was allowed to expand without restriction. I'm glad to be living in a benign rural environment in the Southern Hemisphere. A few philosophers have suggested that we have a window to use our fossil fuels in the short term to gain a foothold off Earth. While devising new, less polluting energy sources.

Yes penny. Also today's news that the Gulf Stream may be decaying.
While studying biochemistry 55 years ago I saw what happened if an organism in an enclosed environment (petrie dish) was allowed to expand without restriction.
I'm glad to be living in a benign rural environment in the Southern Hemisphere.
A few philosophers have suggested that we have a window to use our fossil fuels in the short term to gain a foothold off Earth. While devising new, less polluting energy sources.

The dam has developed cracks and the entire structure has become deformed and that deformity can be seen from space. The dam has also been built in an earthquake zone. Nearly half a billion people are living under a huge water balloon that may burst because of the inferior concrete used in the construction of the dam. The dam seems to have problems handling the intense rains. Anyway, am I the only one who thinks the dam would be targeted in a war? "The great wall of China" has taken on a new meaning now. . . . If the dam collapses, ~ 400 million people will die according to reports. And supply chains around the world would be affected. The dam has developed cracks and the entire structure has become deformed and that deformity can be seen from space. The dam has also been built in an earthquake zone.

Nearly half a billion people are living under a huge water balloon that may burst because of the inferior concrete used in the construction of the dam. The dam seems to have problems handling the intense rains.

Anyway, am I the only one who thinks the dam would be targeted in a war?

In a nutshell the only country that has the possible capabilities of bringing it down is the USA. It's very deep inside China, it's a gravity dam, which means it's simply massive. That said, one can still do damage to, for example, the power generation facilities or the locks. It would also be seen as a weapon of mass destruction for the life loss it would cause.
