Could you please close the loop with the torch terminus. It’s like a bush election with hanging chads. You’re probably my favorite author. I just want to see manticore or maya bust in and do appropriate damage.

Welcome to the forum. We expect that future books will indeed provide a conclusion to the Mesan Alignment (usually abbreviated as Malign in this forum) and their hidden wormholes.

Repeating tlb's greeting.

Please note, David doesn't visit these forums much these days - unfortunately, responding to our numerous questions took too much time away from his writing schedule.

I'm not saying not to stay and enjoy our company - just don't expect anything back except from the rest of us fellow readers.

RFC said "refitting a Beowulfan SD to Manticoran standards would be just as difficult as refitting a standard SLN SD to those standards. In other words, it would be cheaper and faster to build new ships."

He has been doing colabs all over the place specifically because he HAS seen his own mortality in the mirror and wants to pass on as much knowledge to the next generation as possible as he has stated in several podcasts now.

More accurately, with his increasing age and declining health, his writing rate was decreasing[mortality was seen in the mirror] and gives more importance to his family. I understand he started family life late so... he would like to see them marry etc before he dies. Watching Eric die, probably put the final kabosh on internat forum discussions(time consumption).

He has also said several years back, that Uncompromising Honor was the last book of the series effectively and was going to spend all of his time on other series close to his heart. War God's own for instance.

What he said recently was this:
I would point out in passing that as far as I am concerned I wrapped the original story arc I had planned for Honor herself in UNCOMPROMISING HONOR.
But he and someone else are still planning to complete the Malign story arc:
If you’ve been paying attention elsewhere, Marisa Wolf and I are currently ramping up to complete the Crown of Slaves/Alignment story arc following Eric’s death. As things stand now, the first novel in that project will probably launch the next generation of Harringtons’ story arc, as well.
Here is a post that talked about those things:

Thanks, I’m glad he is passing the torch to other writers. Gotta have a life i know but these stories need end points or at least a next novel. I have read and reread his entire volume. Can we get some closure to the cliffhangers he has left. All his work needs a finish. Dune, wheel of time…
