Having just passed 75, I am not at all confident that both RFC and I will reach the end of my favorite series. I am not counting on B&N and Amazon being available on The Other Side. :)

I'm 87 and do not expect to see any more Safehold nor Honorverse stories. I am having to settle for Pendergast, Nora Kelly and Jack Reacher rereads and new books.
Honor Harrington and Safehold nut.

Also at 75 I know the feeling. Overall in good health, but just been told I need two hips and one knee.
I need RFC to continue to give me a reason to live.

A relative youngster of 69, I also doubt Weber or I will live to see the series end. Note that there are no longer updates available on his page or through Baen Books about any of his series.

It is a real problem. Since the days of sitting around a fire toasting mammoth chunks, there gave always been those with the story telling gene. Weber has it, as does Turtledove, Ringo, Andresen, Butcher, and others. We have lost Flint, Heinlein, Asimov, and many other giants.
Many can write technically well, but that storytelling gene is crucial.

MWW updates at cons. He’s said next Safehold was next solo book. He’s also bringing in collaborators; Holo and Pope on an Edward Saganami series and Marisa Wolf for Crown of Slaves. I’m most interested in Gunney Harrington book.

He:s been daying since FOREVER that Safehold is his next solo book. What he ISN'T saying is exactly WHEN he's going to WRITE a solo book. Any solo book. And, for that matter that wasnt true because he DID do Toll of Honor, which WAS a solo, even if he had said his next was going to be a Safehold

I enjoyed Toll of Honor as I have every one of his books. However it would have been much easier to write than any Safehold book for two reasons. Safehold books tend to be much larger, and Toll would have had its plot and much of its background already done.
