Moore's law has been surprisingly consistent, but in recent times it does appear to be reaching a natural limit.
However I do have faith in human ingenuity. An example is how airliner design seems to have stagnated, after all in poor light a Boing 707 and an Airbus 380 could be mistaken for each other.
However after a long period of gradual evoluntary improvement, a revolutionary jump may come.
Examples that come to mind, are the new designs for a flying wing for sub speed of sound flight, and the boomless supersonic transports. Another is one I read today. The new biggest seller of EVs, BYD has announced a big jump in their battery energy densities. They claim 1,000km ranges from the end of this year. Goodbye ICEs.
So, computing has come up against a brick wall using today's approach, who knows what Quantum computing may bring? Personally I'd love to see something that would push the Crypto calculations way out, rendering the current ones much cheaper.

Though totaled up it's a lot of gradual improvement.
A 707 (707-320) consumed about 6,800 kg/h of fuel while carrying around 141 passengers for 3,750 nmi.

A 737 Max 8 (which is another narrow-body airliner; though with only 2 engines compared to the 707's four) consumes about 4,400 kg/h of fuel while carrying around 162 passengers for 3,500 nmi.

35% reduction in fuel consumption is pretty massive (even if that's not quite a perfect apples to apples comparison) - all while requiring fewer crew, less maintenance, and being a lot quieter. (Though the 737 Max series has it's own major issues - and really should have either been a clean sheet new aircraft or used a somewhat less capable, smaller, engine that didn't upset the aircraft handling)

Which goes to show when you reach the practical limits on one line of exploration, you explore others. Going back to computers, the CPU's clock has been in the 2 to 4 GHz for 15 years, so we haven't made computers better by having more cycles per unit of time. Instead, we execute more instructions per time by having more CPU cores, more instruction paths inside each CPU, and less complex instructions to execute. We add more chips that are more capable for a specific task, instead of general purpose, similar to what happened to medicine: we have specialisations, not just general practice.

That's not to say explored avenues are forever closed. Material science (downstream from Applied Physics, which is downstream from Theoretical Physics) may reopen them, as the example of the battery.

Exactly when we’ll reach physical limitations where, for example, quantum tunneling, makes feature size reduction impossible is unclear to me. The actual features on semiconductor chips have no real correlation to the marketing size due to some very clever design work about 8 generations ago. But they will eventually, and for several reasons IIRC.

The speed races stopped due to heating. If you had a room temp thermal superconductor you could dissipate enormous heat.

The production of enormous 3D blocks of logic is possible, but how would you connect to something in the middle? And you have the heat issue.

We’ll see. But based on what seems to be the demographics of this forum, most of us won’t.
