Streak drive and commodity trading? Admittedly late in the centuries long day, but would be a good way to make stock market killings.

Ab-o-so-friggin-lutely. Pull a Martha! Stewart that is! Insider trading with the streak drive will certainly work. And that was a good way to test the waters after the drive was developed. Doses of kudos Daryl. Kudoses. .

Definitely. Galileo sold telescopes to financial magnates so they could see which ships were about to enter harbor and allow them to make financial moves based on their expected cargoes before their competitors could make theirs. Full stock market news, arriving days prior to the news the competitor is getting their news - as long as you play it right, heck yeah, you'll make cash. ******
RFC said "refitting a Beowulfan SD to Manticoran standards would be just as difficult as refitting a standard SLN SD to those standards. In other words, it would be cheaper and faster to build new ships." |

Something else I imagine the MBS used ruthlessly to corner the market on trade. Their network of WHs and their faster ships. And their number of freighters, or the lack thereof of competitors operating in their sector. Interior lines of travel corners the market on information. Cornering the market on information corners the market on everything else. .
