I proudly present the most actual map of the honorverse
In a lot of manual work we crawled all books, wikis and old images of map, the source books and everything which seems to be reliable to integrate all the knowledge into this map tool. https://map.battleforhonor.de/external-star-map?center=Manticore_System https://media.battleforhonor.de/map-example.gif The map manager can be used to create e.g. political maps like - the current default is the actual political assignments from the fandom wikis. The map displays by default the Manticorian Empire, the Andermani Empire, the Solarian Leage and of course Haven. https://map.battleforhonor.de/ The 'map composition' can be changed to colorize bunches of systems, if you want you can do ascii art there https://media.battleforhonor.de/the-map-manager.png But for the ease, you could just simply take the direct link to center the system of your choice and set up the centered system at the deault map https://map.battleforhonor.de/external-star-map?center=Sol There are some follow ups planned based on this tool and I hope that everyone enjoys an almost-canon map |

Are you sure about the position of Calvin and Sanctuary/Bolthole?
According to "Dark Fall" (David Weber, published in the Baen Free Stories 2018) the wormhole covers the distance of 653.17 LY. HH14 discribes the distance as just below 600 LY from Haven, and less than 350 from Manticore. Calvin is also described to be 200 LY from Sol. This would put Calvin almost on the straight line between Sol and Asgard, a little closer to Sol, and Sanctuary in the direction "north-east" of Calvin. On the other hand, J-156-18(L) ought to be 72LY of Haven, but rather on the "north-east" of Haven (as Bolthole is closer to Haven than the length of the wormhole). (Bear in mind that we're actually 3D, while the Map is 2D, so distances on the map can be shorter than the actual distance if the two points have a different "Depth".) |

Thanks for the input about it!
As the galaxy is quite huge, the map is work-in-progress but close to it's completion, I hope ,) If you have other suggestions, please let us know! |

Our editorial team worked a night shift and added or edited around 75 systems.
The wormholes of Yildun, Visigoth, the Titania Mullins Warp Bridge and the Congo junction were added. Calvin was relocated, Refugee/Bolthole of course, too. I hope that the SLN will not get this map. Please have a look and note needed corrections, we want that map as reliable as possible. New is the wormhole highlight on hovering the junctions with the mouse. |

The map contains now a timeline which shows the affiliations of the systems to their then-owning star empires.
Your can also use the map legend to highlight the corresponding systems. This is work in progress and the affilations are not final - but it will be better every day. But what is already clearly visible is the territorial gain of Manticore by operation Buttercup. https://media.battleforhonor.de/year-selecing-map.gif What I also want to mention is the wiki integration for the american and german fandom wiki. https://media.battleforhonor.de/fandim-integration.gif There's still a lot to do, but it's ongoing and I'm pretty proud that I was able to find dedicated people to contribute to it! |

When I get a holographic or true 3D display I expect a true map?
Joking, thanks for attempting the impossible. |

Neh, when the 2D maps are enough for the books then its enough for me But a three-dimensional map is technically not that hard (for sure on a 2-dimensional display - for now) as it sounds. In the end there would be the same problem as for a 2D-map: We have to know the coordinates. This problem is well described in the german wiki. In the development process, the scientific and creative approach were equally in the foreground. Simply because all sources are creative (which should not sound negative!) but for a map we have to write down numbers. I would love it to build a 3d map but I guess, then we would never stop moving systems that everything looks good And thanks |

Excellent piece of work. I wonder how RfC ever kept track of it all.

Thanks a lot Unfortunally a plan for the map failed. The idea was to provide a wikimedia module which could place the map directly into the fandom wikis star system page, but the fandom guidelines didn't allow third party content for the cloud solution. But we already have another idea. And if there is time I will collect all the map images from the infodumps to fill the map |

The map got new features!
The minimap at the upper right shows where the screen snippet is placed in our well known galaxy. And as the map have a lot of interfaces and buttons it now has a "distraction free" mode The second important point is the book lookalike mode aka the light mode. I was never really happy with the "sci fi dark mode" at the map - I like it somehow, but something bothered me. I thought about an idea how to display the map in a brighter setting and then I took an inspiring look in Ashes of Victory - the german version has a small map of Manticore and Haven on the first pages. https://map.battleforhonor.de/external- ... cMode=true And yeah, I think its beautiful |
