In addition, his face was puffy implying that he is on steroids. Combat Vet's conclusion was tentatively Parkinson's. He emphasized that he is not a doctor and his conclusion could not be regarded a diagnosis. However it did seem that he had done a bit of research before he recorded his presentation.

A friend mentioned exactly this after he had seen the same video of Putin.

We speculated that the behavior could also be an expression of pain, gripping the table instead of making a fist while tapping the foot due to muscle-tension.

Regardless, if he is sick it could mean that the whole mess in Ukraine was supposed to be his crowning achievement before stepping down.

On a different subject, why is it that people who go into wars have so little good Intel before they go in... Think Bush before Afghanistan and Iraq. I doubt that he could have even spelled Shia or Sunni... Or the Japanese before Pearl. Now this. I guess the Russians thought they would be welcomed by open arms by the Ukrainians. Maybe pretty Ukrainian girls would bed sticking the stems of fragrant roses down the their rifle barrels...

An often quoted example is the Bay of Pigs fiasco.
Minutes of the planning meeting show JFK being initially sceptical, then being won over by the team's group think.
They had a similar attitude to the recent Russians, that because they hated communism, the Cuban population would feel the same, and welcome the invaders as liberators.
Same result, patriots saw invaders and killed them.

So, the Russian propaganda-machine has now started calling countries that are thinking of joining NATO for being nazis.

As someone once said, if you think everyone around you are assholes - the problem isn't them, it's you.

Countries that live in crystal houses should be very careful when they throw rocks!
Take Russia with their repetitive accusations of Nazi connections, when they themselves had no qualms about climbing into bed with the Nazi’s in 1939.
Here was truly a marriage consummated in Hell that even came with a marriage contract;
the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact.
As a bridal price they were awarded the three Baltic Republics, a bite of Poland and assorted other territories.

If you have a hammer, then every problem becomes a nail...

I haven't been following Daily Kos lately. Got burned out on politics. But I happened across that bookmark and voila... Better summaries of what is going on in war than msm. Also Joat there is an interesting article about Putin having cancer surgery including a discussion of some of the other things we were discussing yesterday.

War in the Ukraine will end on May 9th.
Hungary's Prime Minister Orban told the Pope that is what Putin promised him.
Since the whole world, knows that Putin is a man of his word it’s bound to be the truth!!!

Naturally I fervently hope that I'm wrong, but perhaps he intends to nuke Kiev? It would get rid of the man who has embarrassed him, sort of win the war, and in his mind cement himself as a great leader. He may well find the aftermath unpleasant though.

This latest Russian strike on the Mariupol Steel Plant brings up one of Sun Tzu’s doctrines to mind: the one about leaving an encircled enemy an escape way.
When questioned about the advisability of allowing a foe to escape. He is said to have replied that a foe that is out in the open is easier to destroy, rather than one that is trapped and who will fight ferociously to death.
Apparently someone in the Russian chain of command has studied The Art of War!!!

Didn’t see that one coming!
Thought if anyone would throw a spanner in the works it would be Orban of Hungary…but Erdogan?
One of the news commentators on Danish TV; who has extensive knowledge of Mid –East politics, did say to take it with a grain of salt.
That it may be mainly a stance taken for some domestic political gains.

The stated cause of his objection, ie the Scandinavians stance on the Kurds, is something Turkey have been griping about for years. If Erdogan now have a chance to "stick it" to them he will and it will also give him some domestic political gains.
