Excellent!!

when I saw the first picture, for some reason I thought the model was sitting on a wooden floor and was about 6foot wide!!

I then spotted the banana, and thought 'wow - that is one giant banana'. DOH.

Took me a few seconds to realise that it was actually sitting on a table, and my sense of scale was all wrong

Yeah... the banana is for scale. There's a meme in the 3D modeling world that includes one. Usually, it's just a 3D modeled banana, rendered with the rest of the image. I figured I'd add a physical banana to go with the physical model. FWIW, the model is just under 5 feet (58.5 inches, or 1.5 meters) long.

hah - so I was not far out after all :-)

I keep on having a peek every day or so, and am more impressed each time!

How heavy is the full model? I assume that the sections are hollow?

Yeah, it's hollow. I haven't actually weighed it, but at a guess, I'd say around 2-2.5 kilos, or 4.5-6 pounds. Not as heavy as I expected it to be prior to printing it.

How many KG of filament have you used for it?

I went through about 5 standard 1-kilo rolls, but that includes waste for rafts, brims, failed prints due to power blips, and supports.

I hate to be greedy. But I'd like to have a life-sized statue of Honor picking her teeth with a Heavy Cruiser. Meeting all of my company. Better make that two, because my niece will commandeer it for her war err chess room.

Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense
