This thread reads like satire. Is everyone for real or have I encountered a niche role-play thing? You can't be this separated from reality, there's no way.

5 posts in to your politics forum life and I have yet to see one of substance trying to make an actual argument. Way to keep the streak going. |

Well, it's easier to dismiss "everyone" instead of putting up an argument. Which is kind of strange, since there isn't a consensus in the thread about the topic at hand and some things are easily refuted. Personally I doubt Trump is faking it, but I wouldn't put it beneath him to do it if he believed it would benefit him in some way. I noticed something though, the news have been Trump this, Trump that in relation to his treatment and all the shenanigans around it - but I have seen zilch about the FLOTUS. Did she get the same treatment or are she stuck at the hospital? --- Jack of all trades and destructive tinkerer. Anyone who have simple solutions for complex problems is a fool. |

I'm starting to have some doubts about a lot of it. Especially timing.
The announced treatments don't line up with Trump's actions. Then, on arriving back at the WH, he walked by a bunch of staffers while not wearing a mask. If he actually caught it when he supposedly did, he's still infectious. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Does he really have covid? To me this is looking more and more like reality tv, some sort of publicity stunt...
Did you see how he tore off that mask when he climbed aboard the chopper tonight? He was breathing over everybody in the chopper with him... Is he capable of endangering people with his covid? Well I guess that we all know the answer to that, don't we? If it was a publicity stunt, the only people impressed at this point are his groupies... It's not a publicity stunt because, as prone to shenanigans as Trump is, pretending to be ill is not something that fits in with his self-image as a strong and powerful man. He'd rather be out and about amongst his bootlickers than stuck in a hospital room.
So yeah. He got COVID. Then he got pumped full of drugs. Then he got himself released, despite COVID being known to go through phases of apparent recovery followed by crashes. If it weren't for him being an infection risk for everyone around him, I'd say that it's his health and he is free to risk it however he likes. That said, as always with Trump, there's a tweet for that:

Considering the number of people involved "faking it" is impossible in the strongest sense of the word. Even entertaining such a thought is tinfoil hat tier and shows severe lack of reasoning ability (caused by TDS in most cases). I am glad you have enough left in you to doubt it. AFAIK FLOTUS reacted much better to the virus since she is younger. People under certain age can have it and run through it without major or any symptoms. A friend of mine in his 30s has antibodies which would mean he has had it, but he hasn't been sick with flu-like symptoms in a decade. So I guess there was no need to treat her in a similar fashion to the President. Haven't seen an official statement mind you, just thinking out loud. |

Flotus is resting in her quarters at WH. She declined to go visit Trump at WR because she did not wish to expose the people it would have taken to get her there. That speaks well of her, I suppose. Frankly my last post wasn't reasoned, it was p.o.ed at how cavalier Trumps attitude seems. His willingness to risk others by exposing them to his covid is reckless, to say the least. Then, as in so many other things, there is the issue of trust. So yes, at the end of the day, I believe that Trump has covid. Yeah he almost certainly has it. And he almost equally certainly was tested positive for it earlier than they are admitting given the timeline of symptom progression, how often he is supposed to be tested, and his doctors refusal to say when he last tested negative. So he was running around contagious hoping he wouldn't develop symptoms and have to admit it while he was infecting everyone he came in contact with. And now right wing media is all "how is it all these Republicans are suddenly getting sick????" like it isn't completely obvious and trying to suggest it's some kind of liberal conspiracy. |

In a way, it is a liberal conspiracy. All of them wore masks. Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense |
