I guess it was just a matter of time before the B.O.M. would try to float this idea:
A “temporary” postponement of the US election! https://edition.cnn.com/2020/07/30/poli ... index.html Taking lessons from President-for-Life Putin! |

It's not like it was unexpected for Mr. Dictators-are-my-role-models to try to undermine elections...

On a more positive note Barack Obama just delivered a eulogy for John Lewis. It was wonderful to be reminded what a real president looks like as he delivered an inspirational speech that calls all of us to be our better selves.
Don - When any group seeks political power in God's name, both religion and politics are instantly corrupted.

The Trump campaign spent $38k Buying ad's on the DC Cox network.
There's pretty much one reason and one reason only for it. So Trump can see Trump ad's while watching Fox. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A slippery slope indeed....
A lawsuit was filed Monday in a federal court in Seattle that claims protesters in the city are essentially being priced out of protesting for civil rights because the protective gear they need to keep them safe from responding police is expensive, a report on Tuesday said. The Seattle Times reported that the five plaintiffs listed some of the items needed for protection from police munitions during these protests. The list included boots, gloves, helmets and gas masks. The lawsuit claims, according to the report, that protesters who take part in these rallies have to face the possibility of an aggressive police response and “must purchase expensive equipment to be assured that they will be able to protest safely, the indiscriminate use of weapons by SPD implicates equal protection.” A lawsuit brought by Seattle protesters – who claim having to buy expensive anti-police protective gear deprives them of their First Amendment rights – is “out of bounds,” criminal defense attorney said Friday. |

Are you implying they don't have a point? There have been dozens of documented incidents of unwarranted police brutality against protesters. |

Which leads to more questions. 1) Given the move towards Police Body-cams, how many undocumented cases could there have been? 2) Given that one common trick is to do things like throw rocks and then start recording in order to catch the resulting response (thus stripping the imagery of the required context), how many cases of apparent police brutality have turned out to be legally (although not necessarily morally) justified? On a partially-related tangent, apparently a woman is facing the possibility of life in jail for purchasing red paint. Not for using it in a protest or anything like that, just purchasing red paint. ...erm, what? Anyone else think that the term "Object Lesson" is being applied here? ~~~~~~

Had to check the date, when I saw this headline. Nope, it wasn't an April Fools gag!
The B.O.M's arrogance and sense of self-aggrandizement apparently no limit. What's next change the name of Washington DC, to Trump City? https://edition.cnn.com/2020/08/09/poli ... index.html |

Anyone have any thoughts about the Wealth Tax apparently being contemplated in California?
The part where they're considering backdating it to allow them to go after anyone who has lived in California at any time in the last ten years seems to be rather... iffy. Especially since there's legal precedent that once someone has left California, they no longer need to pay taxes in that state. ~~~~~~
