I am at the moment Reading book 3 in Manticore ascendant
and I found these Little nuggets, palacesecurity has a major by the name B.A Felton whom has a cousin named Sergeant Sara Felton, their coastguard have a Brian Vanhoose and a David Boswell in their ranks, now all these people are members of KOTD which a comic about a roleplaying Group, very droll indeed. Apparently Weber and his cowriters are fans of this comic. |

Now what annoys me that he call the mercenaries Volsung, now I have no problem with that but the correct Word
is Völsung and trust me it sound quite different. Now I am a aseirbeliver and why should my beliefsystem be less than your belief in jahve and jebus? |

I am not sure where you see your beliefs in the Aesir questioned. As to the accent mark over the "o", it might be hard to find on a keyboard outside of Scandinavia. Note that the following article about the Volsung does it both ways; but the text spells the word without the mark: Saga of the Volsungs Volsung (spelled that way) also occurs in the computer game titled The Elder Scrolls. |

On a Mac, you simply hold down the key for a moment and a menu pops up so you can select the appropriate accent. for ö it's 2. Other systems? No idea. |

Microsoft has a page on how to do this using a combination of special keys; this does not work in Notepad, but does in Wordpad: International characters in Office |

That is not a accent mark, it is a letter, we have the letters Å,Ä and Ö and it sounds quite different. Why are you yanks so indifferent? |

Perhaps we are indifferent, because we are not going to learn the language anyway (actually I do regret that I did not learn either French, Spanish or German despite taking classes in each of them - all languages with accent marks). But as to whether they are separate letters or letters with additional marks, this is what Wikipedia says:
