It all depends on what the goal of the investigator is. If you were investigating a fellow law enforcement officer whether he is aware or not. They'll probably discuss with their supervisor or prosecutor whether they want to go with Kalkines rights. Kalkines basically compels you to talk but removes the criminal implications your statements may provide but you can be fired for lying and what not.

Being subpoena'd is worse for him because politics.

Taking the 5'th is damn near not an option because of things he's said.

A volentary interview is about the least worst thing he can do from a whole raft of really bad options.

But yeah, absent the political angle, don't answer anything and don't give sworn statements.

In the current political climate, it quite literally does not matter what he does. His fate in office will be determined primarily by the results of the 2018 Congressional election.

If the Democrats plus the Never-Trump branch of the Republicans get enough seats he is going to be impeached. Period.

If they don't, he is safe.

The people who do support him mostly do not care about the investigation, so he won't be losing much support either way.

The results of the investigation only matter as to whether or not he may face some sort of charges later. From that point of view, obstructionism is his best/safest bet.

(Don't worry smr, I'm sure that's because they're finding *absolutely nothing* in the course of their investigation)

Did you miss my point: I still win even if Pence is President. HRC lost!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone but HRC! I took the post of the boy crying...I thought that was funny post...made me laugh...or was I supposed to be offended! Please tell me if I am supposed to be offended because I can not walk and chew gum at the same time because I am a dumb American. Have a great weekend! Here's to hoping that the fish are biting this weekend or I will be gumpy all weekend long!

Generally it is expected that such a response will in some way address the content of the post you are replying to.

A concept you seem to consistently have difficulty grasping.
