So... Ivanka Trump just briefed the South Korean President on US sanctions strategies for dealing with North Korea.


Ivanka. Freaking. Trump.


Not the US ambassador to South Korea. Not someone from State. No, the girl whose only qualification for being there is she calls the President of the United States "Daddy".

That would be the President's daughter who still lacks a permanent security clearance. And if she doesn't have one by now it's because she couldn't pass the FBI background check to get one and they have security concerns about her.

And the US takes another large stride into Banana Republic land... I await the no doubt outraged reaction of the members of the "strong on national security, omg handling classified information is the most serious thing ever" contingent of Trump supporters. But not while holding my breath.

Yep, which only makes the entire situation worse (because South Korea isn't a strategically vital area of the world or anything), but doesn't excuse sending Daddy's Little Girl to brief a foreign head of state instead of someone from the State department with proper clearance...

So turns out Kushner's family real estate business somehow managed to secure half a billion dollars in loans after the heads of the companies who loaned the money met him at the White House...

How's that swamp draining going?

Aparently, the President is planning to add tarrifs to steel and Aluminium.potential revenge tarrifs, and that is all they can be called, have already been floated.

Makes me wonder if this is the real reason for the South Pacific Trafe Pact being torn up.

We're producing about as much steel and aluminum as we were 20 years ago with half the labor force. So trump is trying to save 500 jobs (IDK, SWAG)and jeopardizing way so many more.

Of course if we quit trading with China, those American corporations who followed the advice of the US Chamber of Commerce. will have to decide what to do now, Since their products will no longer be shipped back to the US.

Well there are now multiple reports that just before that absolute fiasco last year where Trump backed a blockade of Qatar... you know, the country that happens to be home to one of the most strategically vital US air bases in the entire middle east that someone apparently forgot to tell Trump about at the time... Qatar turned down requests from Kushner for financing for his family business.



Yeah, conflicts of interest are nothing to worry about with this administration. Who cares if the president and his family make some bucks off the office right? They don't need to divest their financial holdings! I do believe almost those exact words were used here on these forums.
