"We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it, away from the fog of the controversy. "

Basically, her comment, at the end of a long spiel, was more about the right's "Death Panels", "job Killer", and a whole heap of the negative bullshit that the right were tossing around.

It had to be passed so that people could actually see it in action, not hidden by the crap the right were throwing around.

ACA differs to the tax plan in that not even the people voting on it know what's in the tax plan.

Hell, the people putting it forward probably don't know.

So, after the tax cuts for the rich comes the gutting of the social welfare net to make up the $trillion deficit. Let the ethnic cleansing begin.

yes many white people will die but the percentage of whites to ethnic minorities will be much smaller, and since they all are poor, therefore a drag on the economy, they are only surplus population anyway.

Everyonenbelly up to the bar and have one on me and we'll drink to the GOP's "Modest proposal".

And Trump's lawyer is now literally arguing that laws do not apply to the President of the United States and it is LEGAL for him to obstruct justice and interfere in criminal investigations EVEN INTO HIMSELF AND HIS OWN ADMINISTRATION.

Guess why they're trying to make that argument? Go ahead... guess.

But yeah, this administration is no threat to the nation..... nope... they're not trying to undermine the very concept of the rule of law *at all*.

https://www.axios.com/exclusive-trump-l ... 42663.html

John Dowd, President Trump's outside lawyer, outlined to me a new and highly controversial defense/theory in the Russia probe: A president cannot be guilty of obstruction of justice.

The "President cannot obstruct justice because he is the chief law enforcement officer under [the Constitution's Article II] and has every right to express his view of any case," Dowd claims.

Anyone remember what Nixon was being impeached for? Hmmm? The Articles of Impeachment started like this:

"ARTICLE I

In his conduct of the office of President of the United States, Richard M. Nixon, in violation of his constitutional oath faithfully to execute the office of President of the United States and, to the best of his ability, preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States, and in violation of his consitutional duty to take care that the laws be faithfully executed, has prevented, obstructed, and impeded the administration of justice, in that:"

Well, with the upcoming royal marriage, there's a potential path (given a number of convenient abdications) for someone in the next generation to be both king/queen and POTUS*

Aparently, the tax bill that they voted on in the Senate, has hand written amendments in the margins, crossed out pages, and pages that may or may not be crossed out.
Seriously, 1 line drawn from top to bottom.

It's so badly done, from a procedural standpoint, that the vote could be challanged in the courts.

Sucessfully? Maybe not.

Actually, it should be challanged.

The actual Senate Bill, the House one too for that matter, is totally irrelevant. it goes to the "reconciliation committee" and THEY actually write the law and pass it out for the GOP in both houses to rubber stamp.

Even during the Dubya administration, lots of laws came out of committee much more conservative than they went in being.

One that will be fixed is that in their rush to write and rewrite, the new tax bill aparently increased the tax payable by corporations by $300 BILLION.

Oops.
