If you were born in '34, you probably learned to form quotation marks as "sixes and nines" A six-shaped mark (or marks) to open a quote and nine-shaped marks to close the quote.

vB code tags work the same way, just substitute
for the sixes and
for the nines (without the space that keeps them from being parsed.)

Weird Harold: I recommend using the [ code ] tags to demonstrate. There isn't a button for them, but they still work on here. For example:

Code: Select all
Hello.

Hello.
Greetings.
Those two turn into:
Weird Harold wrote:Hello.

and
munroburton wrote:
Weird Harold wrote:Hello.

Greetings.

To make formatting easier to pick out, some users might space it out like this:
Code: Select all

Hello.
Greetings.
Good to know that
Code: Select all

works. It wouldn't have done much for the syntax of what i was trying to explain, but it's good to know.

I try, I really try. Thanks for the assistance. When I try it, however, I always think the first quote comes last.

First
is the last quote
next
John Doe wrote:is the middle one
last
is the first one

so:
John Doe wrote:
