If believing that helps you sleep at night then believe it.

And by doing so you can set aside the Russian help that actually got "it" elected.

(:-

What "Russian help" or "collusion" was that?

The "collusion" that a full year of investigating by the FBI and both Congressional Judicial Committees AND a Special Prosecutor could not find?

Please, enlighten us.

Just my opinion of course and probably not worth the paper it's not written on.

Let me answer with a question ... how did you feel about all the lies told by Obama and his supporters in Congress to get the ACA passed? When he made changes to that law after it was signed by Executive Order instead of changing the law by the Constitutional method of running it through Congress?

Without going into the specifics of Obama's truthfullnes regarding the ACA (not knowledgable enough on the topic), I'd point out there's a difference between a liar and a pathological liar...

Politicians lie, yes. To a large degree, that's inevitable. And bluntly, you get the politicians you vote for. The last election showed that a lot of voters prefer being lied to rather than uncomfortable truths. That said, politicians (and most people in general) often lie in fairly predictable ways. They might overstate the benefits of a policy or understate the drawbacks, they might fudge numbers, etc.

Trump - and his administration by extension - is different. He's openly lied about things which can be trivially proven to be untrue - and where there's no real advantage in lying. For example, see the statement about the size of the inauguration crowd, or Trump taking credit for inventing the phrases "priming the pump" or "fake news". There was no real reason to go there other than self-aggrandizement.
The upshot is that the Trump White House has zero credibility. A lot of people won't believe anything they say, even if it's trivial, because they've shown they'll lie about things they have no reason to lie about.

Pretty sure the Special Prosecutor, for one, was appointed less than a year ago.

And for that matter, the GOP has had little issue investigating their political opponents even when previous investigations showed no wrong-doing (they're still trying to do so with Clinton's emails despite the result of the FBI investigation).

It is obvious to me that there was Russian interference in the election. One simply has to open ones eyes to see it. Surely enough, in this case, "Where there's smoke, there's fire."

Look at all of the better than circumstantial evidence. Why else would Russia spend that much money on 3,000+ American ads?

Then there are the Twitter accounts.

And the story just keeps on going.

Temper it all with this and your eyes should see, lest completely blind and naively jaded. American citizens used to be a little less gullible.

What is also obvious to me, is that even if evidence is found, chances are good that the American people will never be told. It taints the election process too much and if the American people lose faith in the system, it fails. Much more so than the Recount fiasco ever threatened to do. The truth will never come out. But if one has eyes, one sees.

I have never understood standing behind ones choice of presidents out of sheer arrogance and pride, but this is much bigger than any president, or ones pride.

Wake up and smell the tainted coffee. And the tainted beans.

There is no shame in placing country above party.

Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense

It Is Time To Talk Impeaching Trump

Pathological lying (also called pseudologia fantastica and mythomania) is a behavior of habitual or compulsive lying.[1][2] It was first described in the medical literature in 1891 by Anton Delbrueck.[2] Although it is a controversial topic,[2] pathological lying has been defined as "falsification entirely disproportionate to any discernible end in view, may be extensive and very complicated, and may manifest over a period of years or even a lifetime".[1] Individuals may be aware they are lying, or may believe they are telling the truth

Psychotherapy appears to be one of the only methods to treat a person suffering from pathological lying. No research has been performed regarding the use of pharmaceutical medication to treat pathological liars
.............................................

Impeachment is the process by which a legislative body formally levels charges against a high official of government. Impeachment does not necessarily mean removal from office; it is only a formal statement of charges, akin to an indictment in criminal law, and is thus only the first step towards removal. Once an individual is impeached, he or she must then face the possibility of conviction via legislative vote, which then entails the removal of the individual from office.

Presidential Impeachment Process

Presidential Impeachment is a two stage Constitutional process. The full power of Impeachment and the removal of a sitting President resides within Congress. The actual impeachment of a President is the sole power of the House of Representatives. Once a President is impeached, the power of removing the President shifts to the U.S. Senate.

The House of Representatives starts the impeachment process by publicly investigating the charges and holding hearings. If the House of Representatives votes against impeachment the process is over and the President is not Impeached.

If the House of Representatives votes for Impeachment of the President, the process moves forward with the drawing up of the Articles of Impeachment (The official criminal charges for removal from office). The President has now been officially impeached per the United States Constitution. Once the Impeachment process is final, trials are then held in the U.S. Senate to convict or acquit the President of the Articles of Impeachment drawn against him.

Trump could also be charged with obstruction of justice
b.t.w. 30 days in jail would bring him back down to earth as well

Do you agree--?

So, what are you saying? To impeach = permanently remove from office, which does not necessarily involve a prosecutable crime or filing of criminal charges by a prosecutor after removal.

Or are you arguing an Amendment XXV tmporary removal sohe can serve his 30 days then resume his duties as president as a chastised therefore more humble President Trump?

Some right-wing tacticians want impeachment now in the hopes that a too-early attempt will fail, lessening the chances of a successful attempt later. They want it before Robert Mueller turns in his homework.

The best chance will be after the Republicans lose control of the Senate in 2018 mid-term elections. We'll take the time to do it right, and hope that Trump's damage over the next year can be undone.

So far the Democrats have done nothing to convince me that they can field even 1 viable HoR candidate. What is more likely to happen is the freedom caucus will gain strength from the Bannon Boys.

OTOH, The Dems can be in serious trouble in the Senate elections, lose a few seats and allow the Republican agenda to actually destroy the social contract as it destroys the social safety net.

The Dems are STUPID to want Trump impeached. Or they have not properly thought through the consequence of having a much more conservative and politically savvy operator as president.

The next idiocy is Special Prosecutor finds and proves Russian collusion forcing Trump & Pence to simultaneously resign. Paul Ryan, as Speaker is next in line, assumes the mantle of the Presidency and ... wait for it-

Disagree. Even a fundamentalist christian like Pence or a complete moron like Ryan would be an improvement over Trump: Yes, we know they're liars and hypocrites too, yes, their pet policies are also bad, but they are also people who can be relied upon to not make cryptic statements about how diplomacy is useless in the middle of the night.
