Imagine Pip and Flinx meeting Honor and Nimitz.

For those who don't know, Pip is an Alaspinian Minidrag (Miniature Dragon - really just a 1.5-2 meter snake) that flies and spits corrosive toxin, usually aiming for the eyes - death in 60 seconds, no known antivenin (not that it would matter, with the acid). Oh yeah, she's also empathetically bonded to Flinx (one Philip Lynx, a young man whose genes were illegally fiddled with in the womb and has on-again, off-again empathic and telepathic abilities).

Actually, some of my faves are dead as well. And if you can stretch it to screenwriters. I hear Joe Mallozzi is out of a project. And The Clone Club meister Graeme Manson probably needs a new project as well since he recently concluded his 5 season arc.

Oooh, just thought of another one - though he has sadly departed this mortal vale. John M. Ford! Loved what I've read of his, just loved it.

Scary thought. What about Tom Clancey (RIP)jumping to Sci Fi? The Honorverse might have been be a perfect fit for him. Anybody want a 43 page info dump about the missile feed process?

Well, might be hard. He died 4 years ago.

I'm pretty sure theemile knows that. Given the "RIP" in there and all.

Yep. Though there's also the snarky answer that death doesn't seem to have slowed the Clancy books down much (4 or 5 since he died and another 5 or so in the pipeline)

Though there's a reason I stopped reading quite a while back.
