A While ago, 25 years, My Dad, no longer alive, borrowed a book from me and was talking about a great storey Scify, in which an Anderson drive is mentioned. He lost the book in Italy and I've been trying to figure out what story he was talking about. Any Ideas?

Are you sure it wasn't an Alderson drive? In that case it would be Jerry Pournelle's future history. _Mote in God's Eye_ (co-written by Larry Niven) is the most likely. However, see <http://www.isfdb.org/cgi-bin/pe.cgi?735> (however, ignore the references to Laurie Jo Hensen - IMHO, including those stories is an error)

Thank you
