Don't forget, Treecats cannot read our thoughts, just our emotions. So unless they get to a spot where he is deliberately being questioned, all they may get is a sidereading of "mistrust" from him, just like they will off many Havenites.

Also, the treecats will be in political environments, were EVERYONE has secrets to hide. If he has icewater in his veins, will he stand out? I think the only way treecats will be queued is if they sense massive menance and hatred.

I'm saving him for bigger and better things. Doesn't necessarily mean I'll get around to using him as planned -- sometime s storylines don't cooperate — but if I do get around to it, I think you will approve.

To RFC

I am honored that you responded to a post of mine.
That I also got a Tum-te-tum-te-tum made me feel
that I had fully arrived in a forum sense.
BTW I was not fishing for information so much wanting to
make sure he got his, and the sooner the better.

On another note, we talked a bit when you were at
BorderLands books in San Francisco,. You mentioned
using NBOS's mapping software, which I see in the
Safehold maps. Do you use their software for you star
mapping for the Honorverse ?

Yes and no. The original Honorverse maps were done by hand on graph paper in 1989/1990 when electronic mapping software was, um . . . unavailable. In fact, Honor Harrington was born before Facebook or Twitter or even the World Wide Web.

Since that time, the maps have been transferred to an electronic format, using NBOS, but still strictly two-dimensional. There are plans afoot to (eventually) convert the existing maps into true three-dimensional electronic maps, but that is going to require a lot of approximating and filing to fit given the limitations of the "tech" available to me when the original, core maps were created.

Approximating and filing? Don't forget banging on the forge and pounding and reheating. And then pounding some more.
