Jay,

If you are going there, why not an island in rakurai bay itself for sheer irony. )

Okay, that should work.

That's fine, I'm not arguing with you. If that is what you believe it is what you believe.

My reasoning is that the CoC has rejected the book of Schueler's grotesque punishments as part of their seperation from the temple loyalists. Although Clynthan does deserve those punishments, he will not get them to avoid and future ideology from copying this barbarism. The inner circle knows this is part of the initial gambit to drive wedges into the writ to make it easier to disprove later.

I belive thats what I said. Or they could exile them to various seperate locations in the Barren Lands, or may be Merlin can change thier appearence and 'sell' them into slavery in Trellhiem.

I think that they should be punished, just before charis invades the temple lands Merlin should secretly kill the go4 .Then replace them with man made humans ,early type of a robot though if possible.also mess with there memory if Merlin does not want to.

I heard this somewhere:

There's so much good in the worst of us
And so much bad in the best of us
That it ill behoves the best of us
To find fault with the rest of us.

On the other hand (OTOH)

When discussing the use of capital punishment
with my father (a very long time ago), I remember
him commenting in favour of the practice that
"It does cut down on repeat offenders".

From a religious point of view though, I believe it is
our Creator's job and responsibility to judge us all.

And in view of that, I DAILY thank (in my prayers)
that same Creator for NOT giving me that job.

It is generally considered a bad idea to resurrect a thread that has been dead for months. No one will remember what was said. If you really like an old dead topic and want to discuss it anew, a new thread might be better.

Sorry SWM that I broke one of the rules of posting comments.

I'm just an OF (Old Fart) and did not know any better :(

Interesting, though, that at least ONE person read my post!

Thanks for the comment :)

OF the four, the military guy will likly be forced to go the front lines and die in battle.
THe one who found god, will try to do good and help people, dealing the concequences of the war. Will likly face the church justice system.
Clynthan will likly kill the fourth, seeing him as a traitor or a threat, will likly die killed by his own followers.

The thing is they murdered their own people, started a war with disasterous concequences, and worst of all cost the church alot of money. Eventually the sheer pressure will take them down.

SAy the charisian fleet comes during winter, and storms the city, they could rob it blind, taking treasures and arts

Oh, don't worry too much. It's a rule of thumb rather than a rule of the universe. If people have to wade through the entire thread to remember what was said, it reduces the chances that someone will reply. We do like to see new posters. And there's nothing wrong with being an Old Fart--at least, I hope not! (Can't say I'm looking forard to recieving AARP letters next year, though...)
