This wouldn't work. As soon as Clyntahn would came to his sences enough to understood what they want from him - he would immediately understood that he still have some value. And he would probably refuse to answer unless he would be spared.
If he claims up, you hang him immediately. He stays unhung only as long as he keeps talking (new, verifiable information).
