I also forgot some other political power treecats have or might have.
Queen Elizabeth III (enough said)
Prince Consort Justin
Grand Duchess of Sphinx may be adopted
MP Twin Forks s/a
Theodore Harper Grand Duke of Manticore likes treecats and Aunt and Uncle adopted by treecats
Countess Gold Peak best friend adopted by treecat[/quote]

Wouldn't it would be interesting if Eloise Pritchart or perhaps Thomas Theisman was adopted by a treecat.

In one of DW's books there was a mention of Honor's first encounter with a Manpower operation. Was that ever turned into a book or short story?

Technically, it's not released yet. Publication is due this spring. What is released is the pre-publication E-arc.

Wish and ye shall receive.

The worshipful masses abase themselves before the god-author.

That was the most popular title in the 'titles we would like to see' series.

Is this well futurewards? (unlikely).

Did she rise above her usual standard and get jumped in rank repeatedly again? (What would she need to do? Capture a Solarian League fleet with a Destroyer?)

Be a *ship's* Captain, at rank of Senior Lieutenant?

Be Seconded to Torch to command their flagship?

Nope, Any ships commanding officer has the title of captain wheather it is a LAC or a SD. She is a LTsg currently she could on next promotion be put in command of an older destroyer sized ship, like LCMD Denton CO of HMS Reprise. Plus with the gutting of the various navies in the Battle of Manticore there is going to be fairly rapid promotion. They wont immediatly put her in command but there will be steady but fast advancement in rank. Her next assignment will most likely be XO on a DD as a LCMD.

That is why I raised the question of whether she is a ship captain, has been promoted to Captain, or as another guess, has been assigned to the Crusher as instructor in long range missile warfare, assuming HH likes the exercises she inflicted on Paulo et al, and since she is instructing Lieutenant Commanders and Commanders, she must momentarily outrank them and has been given *brevet* rank as Captain or Goddess preserve us Captain of the List.
