I hope you get what you're looking for, alternative facts and all. God luck on that millions of fraudulent voters marching in one-by-one (Hurrah, Hurrah! )

Uh, are you sure that was meant as a reply to me? Because your above quote, to me it´s mostly just irrelevant.

Republicans are no more honest than democrats. And no more dishonest.

You will find more troublesome extremeists with the Rep´s, and as they are more prone to go with "the ends justifies the means", whenever they end up with too much power, well THEY don´t consider it dishonest to make sure they can "rescue" the nation properly.
And of course, there´s also the delusional ones, the Rep´s has a LOT more of those as well, although unsurprisingly, many of them coincide with the extremeists.

I will repeat it again, Yes there may be cheating going on and the dead and illegal registrations.

HOWEVER there are not thousands of individuals going to the polls in person and casting those millions of ballots. They are being cast inside the courthouse, or at the polling precincts by election officials.

You forget the electronic voting machines.
You know, especially the ones made by Diebold, owned by notable republicans.
Very notably, an Australian hacker managed to aquire a complete copy of the software for it, and it was basically "godmode playtime" level.

Cheating is purging voters in predominantly minority precincts days before the election.

Yup, that´s likely the most preeminent cheating employed by the republicans, or depending on just how much the voting machines are "fixed", 2nd most.

No, Tenshanai, not in this case.

Electoral College members do not represent congressional
districts, they represent states, unless a state legislature
allows its districts to elect an elector of their own (two
states did so this time).

Nothing requires an Elector to live in a particular
district, or even in the state he represents!

Each state legislature may choose whomever it pleases to
be Electors, or to choose the Electors. It seems that the
Constitutional Convention expected most legislatures to
choose the Electors themselves, & ISTR that in the first
several elections they did just that. In at least one
case, when the two houses of the legislature disagreed,
no Electors were chosen by that state for that election.

Choosing to choose Electors by popular vote, came later.
Requiring the Electors to follow the Mandate of the voters,
came even later than that - much later. (In fact, this is
the first time I ever heard of it.)

But a State Legislature may constitutionally choose
*anyone* or any group to choose that state's Electors.
It could - legally - choose the Parliament of Sweden to
choose Electors for its state, if it wanted to do so. ;)

Tenshanai wrote:And i just read an article about how at least 50 of the electors that voted Trump, did so illegally.

"More than 50 Electoral College members who voted for Donald Trump were ineligible to serve as presidential electors because they did not live in the congressional districts they represented or held elective office in states legally barring dual officeholders."

Damn, that sounds like a complex pickle.

I bet there are also state party rules involved in that selection too.

1) In this particular thread, NO I am not aiming this at you in general.I am aiming it in particular to all who want this whtch-hunt and think it is going to find (1)anything beyond a dozen actual cases of voter ID fraud* (2) Large numbers of dead people still on the polls who actually cast votes in the past election** (3) large numbers of illegals registered. and especially (4) that this will end the nonsense of mass voter registration and voting fraud to go away.
*people actually showing up at the polls and forging another's name on the election rolls.
**one of the chief sources for this activity.

as for electoral college members, the state has nothing to do with their selection. There is no US constitutional nything beyond that the college delgats assemble. And each state can pass laws or not for punishing "unfaithful delegates". The state election committee for the candidate usually makes the selections, since they actuallyknow who the candidate's loyal backers are. Of course, Trump had none of this in place, so ... probably state parties made selections.

Well in that case, why don´t the republicans just shut up about it?
Ie. the article i read was made as a response to rep´s complaining about supposedly "illegal" electoral votes going to the dem´s...
"because they did not live in the congressional districts they represented or held elective office in states legally barring dual officeholders."
That was the point...

If it´s not illegal, then WTF are they complaining about?

All I can do is repeat the old joke:

What's the difference between a puppy and a Republican?

The puppy eventually quits whining.

In the UK, the two most common political-party jokes we have are...

What's the definition of a Conservative?
A Liberal who's been mugged.

There are two types of Labour Politician. The first wants to scrap private education now. The second wants to wait until their child graduates first.

Does America have an equivalent to either of these?
How about any other country?

We have the same.
I'd add two. I worked with military pilots and we used to say that the plane's turbine stopped whining long before the pilot, plus what's the difference between god and a pilot? God doesn't think he's a pilot.

Meh, the closest i can think of is something from a bit earlier:
"Don´t steal, the government hates competition."
(My brother had a t-shirt with that text, not entirely uncommon in the 80s.)
