People are saying what he's doing. THAT makes him look bad and like a buffoon.

I'm sorry your guy is embarrassing you (well, no, that's a lie. I'm sorry about a lot of things he's doing but his supporters embarrassment is deserved), but you only have yourself to blame for supporting him when his incompetence was obvious during the campaign.

The Progressives are using their own people within the administration to make him look back. Let's start with EO for immigration. The EO was known about for a few weeks. Oh when the EO was announced...surprise!...protest groups are at the airports within the hour! FYI: protests at airports require city permits and that takes time because that has to be cleared with some Federal Agencies.

FYI: the protests were spontaneous and *did not have permits*.

So the little put up job and the acting attorney general resigns...(she turned in her resignation but Trump's ego would not let her resign, so he fired her.)

The AG did her job. Again, Trump only has himself to blame for putting himself in a position where her doing her job made him look bad.

Two, the selective leaking of phone conversations between world leaders. If you can call Australia a word leader!

The *entire* White House staff was replaced by Trump's people, with the exception of some cooks and valets and such who, just to clue you in, generally aren't sitting in on state calls or high level security briefings.

Guess who's leaking?

Third, UC Berkeley protestors show up to demonstration with bats and masks...I think I beginning to smell a rat. Where are the arrests and charges for rioting! Yeah that is a state controlled entirely by the Dems!

http://abc7news.com/news/3-arrested-in- ... y/1734579/

I'm sorry, what were you conspiracy theorizing?

Fourth, the democrats now NOT showing up for committee meetings to vote on Trump's cabinet nominees! Very classless move and not appropriate for leaders of Congress.

For two of them. Which they had substantive objections to.

Image

The GOP just spent 8 years obstructing every appointment Obama made even when they admitted they had no objections to the person being appointed. They weren't even hiding that the sole reason they had for doing it was because Obama doesn't get to appoint ANYBODY because they were angry he won the election(s).

EIGHT FUCKING YEARS OF THAT SHIT. And not a word out of you that I recall seeing on these boards.

I find your outrage now over the "classlessness" of 2 nominees with clear problems with them being held up laughable.

Having Hollywood celebrities call for the bombing of the White House and armed insurrection.

One celebrity. And nobody "had her" do it. She just shot her mouth off.

(Were not the Dem's the ones that want Gun Control.) What the Dem's are doing could cause a civil war down the road. It's hard to put the Genie back in the lantern once unleashed!

You have to be fucking kidding me.

We just spent an entire campaign season dealing with Trump telling all his supporters the election was rigged if he lost and not to accept the results. Reports every other day of people taking revolution and coup if Clinton won at Trump rallies.

We have spent the last several DECADES with you gun rights folks telling us the reason you need them is to commit treason, start a civil war, and overthrow the government if it turns in a direction you don't want.

viewtopic.php?f=16&t=3694&start=2081

Oh look! The handle of that poster calling for civil war if gun laws he doesn't like get passed looks REALLY FAMILIAR!

And suddenly you're hand wringing about civil war over some first amendment right exercising and a couple held up appointees??????

Does nobody see the insanity, the downright idiocy, of 'supporting free speech' by opposing words with violence? Do these jackasses not have two functioning brain cells to rub together and see what they're doing?

Violent protests and assault aren't really justifiable.

But a venue shutting down something because they cannot guarantee the safety of everyone involved is not an infringement on anyone's first amendment rights.

The chief executive of your country threatening to cut off funding to an institution for exercising their due diligence?
That's definitely an issue though.

These are the things you see in some third-world shithole just before they overthrow the government.

You know what else you only see in some third-world governments just before they get overthrown? Rampant cronyism, the government's spokespeople lying all the time, a head of government who enriches himself, an executive ignoring the judicative....

'Equality' does not mean forcing everybody to be just like you.

Nice strawman you have there.

Well, except for the speaker's, and the people who wanted to hear him. But of course they don't count because they're Evil Conservatives and should not have the right to speak. They...they might Say The Wrong Things! O the horror!

He insulted people; so he, and everybody who listens to him without getting mortally offended, must be put to death. They accused him of 'hate speech' and 'verbal violence' -- and then subjected dozens of innocent people to actual violence while spouting their self-righteous bullshit. If they had any capacity for logical thought, that should have made their heads implode.

How about for doing NOTHING to stop, or even impede, the rioting hooligans, and then giving them what they wanted -- shutting down the event. Fine way to stand up for free speech and the First Amendment, there. Reward the perpetrators and punish the victims.

The left and the Democrats are sinking to new lows. What they are doing in a coordinated fashion is trying to make Trump look bad and like buffoon.

Uh, sorry, but he´s doing that all by himself.

If he keeps up as he started he may be the first US pressie that manages to get declared persona non grata in multiple nonhostile nations.

The Progressives

Ah, you mean the kind of people that managed to drag USA into the 20th century at last ( while the rest of us have left that more or less behind )?

If you hate progressives so much, you can always try to buddy up with the nearest Amish.

Hollywood celebrities

Oh yeah the wonderful new decree that bars entry to USA for several actors nominated for some prize... You were VERY close to getting a potentially EU wide boycott as a result from that. Which in turn would likely have caused quite some locals to boycott as well.

But of course, THAT exception to the new stupidity came REAL quickly.

Again... no. Please learn what your Constitution means if you want to keep waving it around.

The first amendment guarantees protection against the government censoring your speech. It does NOT guarantee you a platform to speak on at a university campus or anywhere else.

Having the venue cancel his speaking slot was was no more a violation of his or anyone else's first amendment rights than CNN not giving me my own nightly news commentary show is a violation of my first amendment rights.

Do you know the facts of the case...if you do not please feel free to look them up before looking like an a**. He was invited to speak at the university and these rioters and thugs decided to have a not so peaceful of a demonstration. That demonstration sure appeared to me to be riot rather than a demonstration. A nice long sentence in the jail should solve the problem.

It was a stupid action by the protesters. By all means use freedom of speech to peacefully protest against what this waste of space was going to say. Then both have a say and continue hold their perceived moral high grounds.

Daily Californian report : One man arrested , not affilliated with the University. 2 arrested for arttacking YR organizers, neither has affilliation with the University.

Sorry about the riots. But even here in Portland the people arrested for property damage are being identified as "anarchists" in the polce reports. The cops are saying that 99+% of the protesters are peaceful. and that the violence is being done by people that are not members of the groups being permitted.

Cant speak about who did what at UCB, but mindlessly blaming liberals is ... bizarre.

Yes, let's start with the EO.

The EO wasn't passed through to any of the stakeholders (e.g. DHS) for comment beforehand. The head of DHS only learned about it at the same time that Trump was signing it. As a result, the agencies invovled were unprepared, and in fact many of them learned about it in the press. Which proceeded to become a massive mess since there were no uniform instructions as to how to implement it - and issuing it during the weekend, when much of the manegerial and legal staff are off duty, made it worse. Adding to that was the back-and-forth on whether it applied to green card holders.

And the kicker is was there was nothing that urgent about the EO. It could have been just as easily issued on Tuesday, after letting the various agencies involved time to clarify things and issue orders in an orderly fashion.

Regardless of what you think of the EO's content, it's implementation was incompetent.

Two, the selective leaking of phone conversations between world leaders. If you can call Australia a word leader! (Relax Daryl that was a joke besides my relatives down under would kill me if I was serious!)

First of all, I doubt anyone who isn't a Trump appointee would be in a position to leak this (on the US side). Besides, weren't you guys harping about how complaining about where the DNC hacks came from was a red herring, the content was what was important? I mean, the way these things usually go a head of state doesn't talk to heads of enemy states like that. You think Trump insulting all of the US allies
(so far it's been Australia, the EU, and Mexico, but it's only been two weeks) for no good reason won't come back to bite you?

Fourth, the democrats now NOT showing up for committee meetings to vote on Trump's cabinet nominees! Very classless move and not appropriate for leaders of Congress.

As opposed to refusing to even hold a hearing of a Supreme Court candidate for most of a year - despiteOrin Hatch saying that the Republicans would be happy if Obama nominated him? Or the other ~100 judicial appointments which were held up?

As opposed to removing the head of DNI and the CJCS (and several other functionaries) from the NSC while appointing a political overseer, gagging government agencies, requiring political oversight of government scientists, ordering voter fraud investigations which are at least implied to check only the places Trump lost, and having government representatives trying to emulate Baghdad Bob (I mean, it was just amusing earlier, but now Conway is claiming the EO was due to a massacre which didn't actually happen and Spice accused Iran of attacking a US navy warhsip when the attack was by Iran and the target wasn't American)?

The biggest issue I have is with the response to the riots. With the level of violence there should have been multiple arrests. not just 2. What I want to know is why weren't more people arrested? If the police were told not to arrest people, that is a big problem. I don't know if that is the case or not, but I want to know what instructions were issued to the police.

There needs to be an investigation of the police response to this. 1) what were the orders 2) would a different response have prevented some of the damage 3) why weren't more rioters arrested - dozens should be in jail now. This may be a liberal philosophy problem or it may just be a preparedness issue or it could be something else. We need to find out what went on or it will be repeated the next time.
