You understand that speeches are composed of words which can be read not just listened to... Right?

Dial down your opinions please...

Hmmm....

Yup, didn't bother watching his speech but from what I'm hearing about it it went basically like...

This is going to be a long 4 years of bread and circuses...

OK, this is just pathetic. I was expecting whiny tweets but he's apparently growing even more unhinged.

First he devotes a good chunk of an address at the CIA in front of the freaking memorial wall to whining about media reports of his crowd sizes to the CIA.

Then he has pictures of the crowd packed immediately around the dias posted in the press briefing room as a "look! Lots of people!" tantrum:

And THEN Trump actually sent his press secretary out to yell at the media that Trump's inauguration audience was the biggest in history. Period! Which everyone with eyes knows is a flat out lie.

There's insecure, and then there's whatever fucking word we're going to have to come up with to describe President Crybaby.

Day two folks... four more years of this embarrassment.

According to British bookmakers the odds are better than even that he won't last four years - leaving by impeachment or resignation to avoid impeachment, and that doesn't even consider the likelihood of assassination of His Pompossity.

He really is the worst speach giver the US had had as President in years.
But then he shined when he was off script. (Didn't like what he said but he did it well)

He's going to have to piss off considerable of congress in both parties. No way the democrats are going to get a bill of impeachment out of the house and absolutely no way a conviction will come out of the Senate. If the republicans try, the Democrats could stonewall and make the republicans suffer through 4 years of this incompetence. Why would the dems prefer Pence to The Donald.

With how stupid, corrupt, evil, and downright lazy this country has become, I think Adilf Jr WILL last just fine...

It'll be the COUNTRY that dies.

Wishful thinking. Congress is learning out to manage him. The keys are:

1. Take him seriously not literally
2. Ask Ivanka, Jared or Kellyanne or someone else he trusts to talk to him
3. Recognize the fact that his management preference is to hire good people and let them run things which means that congress can work directly with the cabinet.
4. Recognize that he will sign most of Congress's wish list if they let him take the credit
5. Realize that although he's not a conservative, he'll be on their side if they treat him with respect. He craves respect and the Democrats are making this one easy by acting like deranged lunatics
6. Take him at his word that everything he says is the opening position in a negotiation and that he expects to compromise

They're not going to take the risk of a republican civil war with the 30% of Republicans that like him.

An assassination attempt is a strong possibility. There are a fairly significant number of Trump haters that seem to have crossed the line into the truly deranged. However I don't think it will be a success. I have confidence in the secret service.

Which would be fine except he can't be counted on to tell the truth about anything. It's impossible to take him seriously when he contradicts himself all the time.

2. Ask Ivanka, Jared or Kellyanne or someone else he trusts to talk to him

Which translates to "Hope that these three unelected people will agree with you on what the best policy for the country is and that they manage to get to the Trump before any of the other advisors". Yeah, this sounds like it will be no problem at all!

3. Recognize the fact that his management preference is to hire good people and let them run things which means that congress can work directly with the cabinet.

Which would be fine except the skills he seems to value most is "agreeing with me".

4. Recognize that he will sign most of Congress's wish list if they let him take the credit

Assuming that the caveats above would not be an issue, sure.

5. Realize that although he's not a conservative, he'll be on their side if they treat him with respect. He craves respect and the Democrats are making this one easy by acting like deranged lunatics

Yes, granting respect to someone singularly undeserving of it is a fine idea.

6. Take him at his word that everything he says is the opening position in a negotiation and that he expects to compromise

Would be fine, if he wasn't lying through his teeth all the time.

They're not going to take the risk of a republican civil war with the 30% of Republicans that like him.

Why not? Cutting out a minority from the decision-making process is something Republicans are really really good at.

An assassination attempt is a strong possibility. There are a fairly significant number of Trump haters that seem to have crossed the line into the truly deranged. However I don't think it will be a success. I have confidence in the secret service.

An assassination attempt is always "a strorng possibility". Or did the past 8 years of Obama-hate not happen in your world?

There was a time when the average American put great faith in a mans word. His word was his bond and it meant that a hand shake was an ironclad agreement. Trump is stomping all over the concept as his outright and deliberate lies are now just "alternate facts."

http://www.cnn.com/2017/01/22/opinions/ ... index.html

We have had lying politicians for so long that we kind of expect them to stretch the truth, but one reason for Trump's popularity was to get something different. Instead of stretched truths we now get outright lies. Is that really an improvement? I'm with the former CIA Director on this. Putin's Pet is despicable.
