You mean using the amazing skill demonstrated by them in detecting well known Mesa terrorists and agents in "Beginings"?

What Everyone needs is yet another Randy Steilman (HaE)looking for somewhere to defect to.

The Redstone missile used as the launcher for the suborbital Mercury missions was an SRBM, not an ICBM. The first US ICBM was the Atlas, which had severe teething problems before settling down in time for the Mercury orbital missions.

Oops, I misremembered somewhat. However the R-7 family was designed for a much heavier H-bomb than the Atlas; which did give the early Soviet space program much more orbital payload to play with once it was repurposed.

that was half a century ago when there was a undeclared rule to the private little war, between beowulf specials ops and messa special ops, that you didn't send agents to Messa or Beowulf.

plus they now know the MA exists and are going to be much more suspicious, especially with the info from torch about special ops infiltrators using copied barcodes of those thought lost.

Except Beowulf never saw a need for recording barcodes, and while yes some of the older freed slaves may come in and willingly allow their barcode to be scanned, just in case, many may not.

And if one of the infiltrators gets to be the first with their particular copied code to be recorded they're practically homefree. And since they're seemingly merely informers, and not assassins, treecat aided interrogation won't yield much.

What does that prove? You are using one single example as a Chrystal ball to do what? Tell us that Beowulf will fail every time because they failed once? You think that 4,5,6 or 10 people who snuck in to a system with 6 or more billion people represents proof that the same thing will happen over and over again at any level with impunity?

And how won't it yield much? If they can tell you are lying or covering for something/someone then it is pretty easy, you lose clearance and go under surveillance.

That there was a story about it is fairly strong evidence that way. I mean, hyperspace combat has featured prominently in the novels more than once. It's really, really rare in the Honorverse according to RFC.

Torch certainly was recording bar codes. That's how they found out about the infiltration into The Ballroom. They investigated and the operative suicided. I'm sure Torch relayed that info to ... almost everyone.

On Obsolete Solly Ships. SpV p683. The basic doctrine of the SLN is dangerously flawed. it hasn't changed in over 150 years. Even brand new Solly construction is obsolete death traps in combat. Well against almost anybody except the Sollies.
