Israel is where it is, because the Jewish Bible (also
accepted and claimed by Christians) says that that
particular land, between the Jordan River and the
Mediterranean Sea, was given by G-d to the Israelites.
And how RELEVANT is that? Zero, none, nada.
Unless of course you want to start accepting religious records as the normal basis for borders.
But in that case, you´re kinda out of luck, because the American natives gets their place back pretty damn fast.
Meanwhile, 70+% of jews doesn´t even have a genetic lineage to the Palestine region.
So come on, tell me again exactly how a religious group, a majority of which doesn´t even have any links beyond a religious claim, has more rights to a land, than the people who lived there, and can trace lineage in the area hundreds of years back?
No other land can be acceptable as a Jewish state.
As for a Jewish Army to fight in Eretz Israel, Tenshinai,
it was recruited and assembled one Jew at a time,
from Jews who were either already there or who went
there to fight. No USA army units were involved, ever.
Seriously...
You actually believe that a completely disorganised force of 15000 new recruits along with the 2000+ strong Palmach ( British trained ) and a few thousand terrorists could hold out against a regular army?
If the Palmach was the only trained and equipped troops involved on Israeli side, the war would have ended in a few weeks with a no longer existant Israel.
Most of those ~15000, were jews who had served in the US army, and after the war "somehow" ended up in Palestine with 2 divisions worth of US military equipment, along with supplies of fuel and ammunition.
Oh, and isn´t it amazing that somehow, the brand new state of Israel had the cash available to quickly hire a few thousand mercenaries to shore up the fighting with?
Officially, USA was "merely" a mostly political supporter with volunteers giving money.
The reality is basically just another case of "enacting regimechange".
Stuff like operation Balak would never have succeeded without US covert support, despite how it was US politicians whining that greatly contributed to shutting down the "smuggling".
And it´s hard to call it smuggling when it includes 3 months of frequent flights with 4 engine transport aircrafts, the kind of a transport airfleet that would have made the Luftwaffe of 1939 green in envy.
The kind of airfleet that a nongovernment entity simply cannot aquire and run unnoticed.
Seriously, they "suddenly" managed to aquire and run enough aircrafts to unofficially be one of the 10 largest nongovernment flightops in Europe at the time.
Doing nothing but smuggling. Yeah no, sorry, that isn´t just unrealistic, that just does not happen without assistance.
And it has been established pretty damn well where that assistance came from and to some extent why(can´t have armageddon without an Israel, yay!).
The British did recruit a Jewish Brigade, mostly from
Jews already in "Palestine," for WW2. After 1945 most
of the 4000 or so Jewish Brigade members did join the
Haganah (or Irgun, or Lehi) which was (were) turned
into the Israeli Army when the State was declared.
Palmach. 3 brigades with a bit over 2000 in troops.
One US Army colonel, David "Mickey" Marcus, a Jew,
did join the Israeli Army. He did so by himself,
without bringing any other Americans, Jewish or not.
Ah yes. Like how Swedish volunteers went to support the winter war in Finland. They got "vacation", then somehow arrived in complete units with weapons and equipment.
Spontaneously of course. Absolutely noone behind the organisation of it, none at all.
Yes, I am a Jew, and a supporter of Zionism
I don´t care if you´re a jew, but supporting zionism is gross stupidity.
You might as well say that you´re supporting landtheft, ethnic cleansing and genocide.
Because THAT has been the actual results of zionism. And the disgusting part is that too many, even if it´s a minority, of zionist supporters thinks that´s ok, because hey, we got the godgiven rights!
And that´s why religion should never be allowed into politics.
