Australia's answer to Sarah Palin, Pauline Hanson, decided to show that bleaching on the Great Barrier Reef is an overblown problem by having a press junket dive on the reef.

Nearly 1000 miles from where the bleaching is occuring.

You want crazy?

The UK has a party known as The Monster Raving Loony Party who exist mainly to poke fun at politics and ensure that it isn't taken too seriously.

The mad part?

With the sole exception of "Introducing Crocodiles to the Thames", every single part of their first Manifesto has been put into law.

It gets better. It appears that Mz. Hanson may have illegally collected coral during her above mentioned trip.

"We all know the stories about the Human Rights Act... about the illegal immigrant who cannot be deported because, and I am not making this up, he had a pet cat."

2011, the then Home Secretary of the UK was criticised for saying the above.

Hmm... she seems familiar somehow.

Well, she was criticized because, ahem, she was making shit up.

(In that particular case, while the judge's decision does mention the cat, the real reason was because of a piece of guidance issued regarding the enforcement of the relevant laws that required consideration to be paid to the defendant living in a long-term relationship with a british citizen)

They came fourth in a byelection yesterday. Out of eight candidates. Granted, only 184 votes(first place had 20,510). Still, fourth! There are four serious candidates who just got beaten into the ground by a professional political clown. :D

President elect Trump has announced his new Sec. Defence.

Unfortunately the person is ineligible for the next 3 years or so.

Wouldn't be the first time Congress waived that minor rule. We're draining the swamps. But I'm not sure what he's draining the swamps of except regulations designed to protect the swamp ecosystem.
