Well, today was to be the day. I popped into Minotaur and saw numerous copies of Shadow but none of Triumph. HFQ was 8 days late and AtSoT may well be delayed to match. As Minotaur have a 25% discount offer for a two-book purchase in November, I'm not buying Shadow until the other one arrives. The discount is to celebrate 40 years since Minotaur opened. This makes me feel decidedly aged, having first bought books there in 1978!

Hi Olegreyowl,

Thanks so very much!

I was able to get my copy Saturday afternoon thanks to this thread, as the customer service young lady brought it from the back, since I was able to point out November 8, was a soft sell date, then my niece who's a B&N member refused to let me repay her, insisting it was a belated birthday present!

It doesn't get much better than that.

The 2 all-nighters were easily worth it.

Thanks again,

L

Remember that the book does not have a SOS (Strict on Sale) date, but rather it is a soft release, meaning they can sell it right out of the box. But some employees (new, seasonal, idiots.. etc) may not be familiar with soft releases and see the pub date and claim it's not available yet. Be nice to them (no yelling) but get your copies. :D

Can't say for the hard-copies at either Books A Million or Barnes & Noble near me, but my Kindle account just updated and ATSoT is there! Sadly I have no reading time available for at least two days. Family obligations are going to intrude severely.

Still at least it's there!

I cracked and bought it on Kindle.

Now to disappear for a while.
