When was the plan to create large scale rebellions in the verge first thought up? I was reading the blurb for the new book and it made me think that it will backfire on the alignment.
The alignment deeply underestimated the manties tech advantage and believed their ships would be kept occupied by enemy fleets. This failed and so much so, is the empire is now securing the terminus location through out space.
They are flooding rebels groups with weapons with hopes they get smashed not by the local government, but the league correct. The league military is occupied keeping an eye on the termini and the alliance. How important would a dictator demands of intervention be?
Did the alignment ever consider what happened if multiple rebellions were successful?
I wonder if examples of rebellious world's getting free would inspire others . The league might believe the alignment theory is a lie, I bet the rebel world's would believe the empire.

One thing you missed: The alignment doesn't care what happens to the rebellions it sparks. All they want is to destabilize the league so that it disintegrates; whether a given rebellion succeeds or is brutally squashed is of no consequence to them. Both outcomes further the destabilization of the League, and thus open up space for the Alignment and its puppet states to grow.

So many questions and I still haven't figured outhow o do multiple quotes, so I added the numbers.

1) No textev for when. Shadow of Saginami is first mention in Talbott Sector on Kornati and Montana.

2) Not at all. Scatttered through several books mostly Mission of honor (MoH on forums) is textev thatMAN has great respect for Manty hardware and personnel. Murphy got Detweiller. Who knew Zilwicki survived after the faked surveillance footage Showing him and Cachet in that tunnel seconds before the second nuke exploded. Shock that Prichard would go to Manticore with a peace offering. After Haven trashed the RMN and got trashed itself, after Oyster Bay took out all the space stations and building capacity, it was expected that the LN fleet would get trashed. It was hoped that at least [i]some
RMN ships would be destroyed.

(3) Lacoon 2 was to secure all wormholes. Not sure that it was implemented by the beginning of SoV. They were secured under Lacoon 1 to insure all RMMM hulls got safely back home.

(4) let chaos reign! Purpose was to create appearance of widespread uprising in the Verge, distract SLN and OFS, plant evidence of SEM involvement to (a) fuel the fires of war and (b) trash SEM reputation as good ally because promises were made of RMN assistance in these uprisings.

(5) Gives OFS the official/legitimate cover it needs to send Ships and intervention batallions to bust heads.

(6) Textev (SoF)Firebrand: Good luck kids. You got about one chance in 5 in pulling this off. You'd have a much better chance if Manticore was actually behind you, but...
If it works good, if it fails better. Either way we create headache for Sl and trash SEM's reputation.

(7) Sure, But how are they gig to find out? OFS is certainly not going to spread the news.

(8a) SL Mandarins do not care what SEM says. They believe it is a smokescreen to avoid the Juggernaut that is the full force and fury of the SLN in all its quantity from falling on their heads. (b) That is the intention, However by SoF, the MN has already spoked that wheel.

The E's answer was also spot on.

The impression of the book cover really seem to suggest that this operation goes badly for them.

We know that manties have saved at least one of the rebel planets. It sounds that those worlds are spread out but in the general region. Does the league actually have the ships to respond to rebellions? The manties have figure out the plan the alignment has, so what happens if they eliminate the ships available in the region?

The thing is while their plan might fail, I don't see it harming them. The only way they would suffer, if is the streak ship is captured and /or Damien is also captured.

I suppose this operation might prove their existence, there are some in the league already suspicious, so this event proves them to be really.

1)Rebels have no ships. Only need 1 DD in orbit to drop KEWs. one Troop carrier to drop a battalion of knee breakers on a hapless resistance movement. Probably systematically easier than just hanging around waiting for some stray to report yet another of Harahap's plots. After the capture of Meyers, destruction of Yucel, not sure what is left.

2) the best conspiracy theory! if it works its good if it fails its good. Besides RFC, who knows when/if sanity will break out in the Solaran League. Rest of it:spoiler alert
Helas,chou, Je m'en fache.

Just manually add more tags to close and open quotes:
[/ quote] [ quote] (without the spaces).

So
Lorem ipsum.
Becomes
Lorem
and

Imagined conversation:
Admiral [noting yet another Manty tech surprise]:
XO, what's the budget for the ONI?
Vice Admiral: I don't recall exactly, sir. Several billion quatloos.
Admiral: ... What do you suppose they did with all that money?

I believe that Capt Zavala has already resolved that issue. Don't think he got the streak drive courier. But that might be arrangeable. Especially if they can convince Hahrahap that his life depends on having the support systems aboard the courier to keep his nannies out of suicide mode.

Pretty much, the Malign is starting dozens of fires around town. not because they like fire or burning things, nor do they really want anything to burn down. They just want to distract the firefighters and police, spread them out so far they cannot respond to items they normally would, and get the populace to doubt the efficacy of the institutions. And, most importantly, pin the blame on someone else who is also a credible threat.

I don't get the zavala mention, I know he dealt with salt ash station issue, but that was not a specific alignment act.
Damian or the streak ship would have the details on the Megsan back rebellions. This would allow the manties to intercede and aid them. So instead of failed rebellions, they would be successful ones.

Damien is deeply suspicious, what will he do if he hears about the assassination nano gear?

since this is a spoiler thread, we can mention it...

Zvalia is the Manty task force leader in SoV who "meets" (i.e. introduces his favorite Marine landing party and their kinky handcuffs) Damien on Seraphin. His streak ship was stationed in another system due to the dangerous situation, and was not captured.
