OK… I know we had discussions on pronunciations and I was going to return to that thread to post this but then I noticed we are up to 1,705 topics on 86 pages and decided that re reading, even the title of the topics would take me longer than I want, heck… I bet one of you would be able to reply before I finish my research so…
Sharleyan; I had been pronouncing as Shirley Ann but, now I am re-reading as I have with each new release and it occurred to me that it could be pronounced Charlene. Any thoughts?? Just my 2 ₡ worth

Hmm. Charlene does seem more likely.
Frankly, I've been mentally pronouncing her name phonetically as spelled: shar lay yun |

I use that pronunciation as well. And have always assumed that it evolved from Charlene.

We may have to go to the audio for this one (AND many others!)
For myself, I always look at it as (soft 'c') CharlieAnn(e)! But then, what do I know? -----
What say you, my peers? |

Thanks... Your choice of CharlieAnn is very close to what I had been reading but, it never felt quite right... I ought to consider audio because I have dyslexia but, I still like the feel of a hardbound book on my lap and the ability to turn back a page or three to re-read. Of course, I realize that much of that is the learned response to my reading difficulty and I am just about stubborn enough to be a republican senator. Just my 2 ₡ worth

It's Charlene. Her nickname is Sharley ("Charlie"). lol, Daivyn calls he Empress Sharley.
The closest to Daivyn I've been able to think up is "Devon." |

If it's not Charlene, it must be Sharley Anne.

I still see her as Sharon; it is just that the Safeholdians don't know how to pronounce her name properly
Sharleyan Tayt == Sharon Tate Roman Polansky is already present in other RFCs universe.

Considering that we have a Norman Bates, a Peter Sellers and a John Smoltz all peaking at us with tongue in cheek, Sharon Tate could be another but, I thought the pronunciation too far off to have considered that option. Just my 2 ₡ worth

Sharon Tate was killed by Charlie Manson. Mashup up Charlie and Sharon and Sharleyan is not too far off. |
