You're projecting Hanth pull a "Hey, diddle, diddle, right up the middle" into and through Rychter's stacked defensive positions on the Canal even though we know Rychter's getting better artillery and has way too many of the rapid-firing St Khylman's. IMHO that dotted lines may represent the extent of Rychter's defensive envelope. Any pro's out there with opinions pn what that type of dotted line represents?
OTOH It's hard to see why the rear of Rychter's 'defensive envelope' would be marked but not the front. And if that's his front he has big problems. The Dohlaran border runs
east of Bryxtyn and Waymeet; Waymeet which he has lost is a strategic road and canal nexus; Hanth has a huge salient into Rychter's lines, which is way too big to defend with the numbers he has.
NTM all the detail of these farms etc well West of that line on the map!
It's hard to tell what the maps are showing. The North and temple lands maps show a series of vertical dashes across the Saeridahn canal and the adjacent road that I'm taking a a series of defensive positions Rychter is using or has used. THe Dohlar map has nothing like them and actually shows nothing in the area the lines are on the other two. Who knows.
We know Hanth's still east of Dohlar and not moving very fast. We know Rychter's getting stronger and is becoming progressively more aggressive in his defense. The Temple lands map shows the border running through Braxtyn and Waymeet which unfortunately is of little value because we have only a very general idea of where the forces are.
WE don't know if the dotted line marking the of bulge sw of Braytyn/Waymeet indicates any sort of specific boundary. It may (
) indicate someone's area of operations. I'd appreciate anyone familiar with military mappping shedding some light on what the dots actually mean.
If something happens back near Gorath or on the canals leading up to Rychter that cut off his supplies Hanth might be able to push him back and the dotted line may indeed be his advance but Hanth ain't gonna do it by himself.
The amount of detail is tantalizing, especially when you look at the lack of detail in Silkiah or other areas.
Only the Celeryeater knows!!
