The series will probably end with something like..
Benjamin Detweiler leaned back in his chair and steepled his fingers in thought.
The total collapse of the Solarian League had been as sudden as it was unexpected, leaving the Haven Quadrant the primary power of the galaxy. The Renaissance Association had come together flawlessly and was building goodwill already by means of generous donations to nearby systems in order to keep them from collapsing.
However, it would take several decades (at the very least) before the Alignment Navy was strong enough to take on its planned role.
Until then, the Alignment would remain in the shadows. It had done so for centuries, a few more decades would allow it to finish adjusting its plans.
And then it would take its rightful place.
(My apologies to David Weber).

I see the next book as the springboard to the follow-on series, the Raoul Harrington books, set in a universe with dozens, if not hundreds, of empirelets and mini-republics formed out of what was once the Solarian League.
And Honor? Well, she's probably going to be in charge of the Grayson Space Navy, having raised Raoul to be a tactical genius.

I can't write anywhere near as well as Weber
But I try nonetheless, And even do my own artwork.

Weber has gone back and forth on whether there will be a followon series. The last I heard the answer was no.

That doesn't mean there won't be individual stories as the urge strikes. There is, for example, another anthology planned that hasn't been scheduled yet, and it's supposed to have a Jane Lindskold story in it.

DW is currently 63, and while I wish him a long, happy and productive life, another series, which might run to ten books or longer, would put him in his 90s when it's done at the current rate of one every three years or so.

This is really the issue. David has or is involved with other series that are looking for wrap up. Safehold will probably go another 4 volumnes, give or take. Multiverse which needs at least 1., the Wargod series which I haven't followed. Dahak needs another book. So does Empire of Man.

The thing of it is, David is eventually going to want to slow down a bit, if not stop. Honorverse is his oldest series and frankly, as much as I have enjoyed it, it's probably overdue to wrap up.

Buthe wouldn't be the first author (Robert Ludlum, James Patterson) to pass the torch to another author to continue the franchise. I'm sure he could find somebody (Eric Flint, joelle Presby, Timothy Zahn, BuNine) to continue with bits of input. As the creator of a BBC program dealing with genetic engineering said: We planned it for 3 seasons, we've been signed up for 2 more. We will wrap it up to everyone's satisfaction. But ... I mean, if the demand and ratings are there, we could probably find something to do.
