While they weren't exactly league planets, they appear to be transteller's planets.
Which is close enough for MAlign purposes.

These planets do have ties to the League. Part of OFS' role is to faciliate transstellar control of those systems, even if OFS hasn't officially taken them into Protectorate status. IIRC, the Polish planet had suffered some sort of plague and the government at the time signed over the rights to their system's resources in exchange for a medical solution.

The key of the matter is that OFS takes a percentage - an "administration fee" - so even when the planet isn't directly under OFS supervision, the SL bureaucracy derives income from those systems. It all adds up to quite a large proportion of federal revenue.

And can you find me a passage from chapter 2 or 3 of SoV that suggests that OFS has any presence on the planet in question?

I've reread a little and it appears I got Wloclawek and Chotebor mixed up. The former doesn't appear to have any OFS or Transstellar presence. However, they still called for OFS assistance and...

"I received word about an hour ago," Mazur continued. "Commissioner Radisson informs me the Office of Frontier Security and Frontier Fleet are prepared to support the restoration of the legitimate government."

Hieronim Mazur is the head of the SEOM, which appears to be a home-grown conglomerate doing to its own planet what it usually takes a transstellar to do.

So the relationship is not too different from what New Tuscany had with Commissioner Verrochio. Either that or OFS always responds to calls for assistance, since it lets them get hooks into new victims.

I don't know if anyone else picked up on it, but it seems as if everyone is outraged by the recent Ballroom attacks on the planet of Safehold, a place called Green Valley on the island nation of Corisande.

Edit: I did find one mention of Green Pines in the eArc but all of the rest were Green Valley.

Edit: I definitely hope that doesn't mean that they killed General Green Valley, Cayleb and Merlin would be quite upset

Now this is the type of side-winks I like to see in any books. By the time the next Honorverse and Safehold books hit....I should be done re-reading both series.

I am in book hell and I like it.

Remember each novel has to be written from the point of view that this is your first introduction to the series. If you pick up a novel without explaining who anyone is or what is going on, that is the definition of a bad book. The book isn't written for us super Fans, it is written for everyone. We view books like TV shows, but they are not. More like a stand alone movie each on its own each explains each character each gives a reason for each character...

As for the time line not expanding it means three things, something is going to happen, it is going to happen soon 1922ish and it is going to be milked for as much money as possible. Can you imagine is Starwars 1-6 was a single movie in 1978. A good movie but if it ended where it started when it started it would be more like THX 1138. George would have made half a million vs how many billion? If Starwars 7 was the second movie would it be ranking in billions? SEN 5241 anyone?

This doesn't seem unreasonable for the proportion of outer Alignment members that can be trusted to keep their mouths shut once they're let into the "secret." Most of them aren't at the very inner core, of course; that's why it's called the onion.

Within the onion, discipline is merciless. There's a lot of nanotech that's used to make sure people keep their mouths shut. We've seen a couple of cases of that already. I suspect that one of the very basic criteria for selection is that the candidate is willing to commit suicide to protect the "secret."

RFC seems to have built in a bias so that extreme intelligence has downsides, like a vicious temper - something that Albrecht Detweiller specifically has to keep in check.

Even so, it seems almost inconceivable that Jack McBryde is the *ONLY* "defector" who managed to actually get some information out in all the centuries the MA had been in existence.

While I'm sure the nanotech *helps*, from all that we've seen so far it's keyed to very specific triggers, like words, phrases, maybe even specific voices. After all, you wouldn't want two members of the "inside" kill each other discussing normal (or even abnormal) events in the course of their normal work. Most of the nanotech seems to be more in the way of a "kill switch" - something another member can trigger if they think there's a reason to prevent secrets coming to light (like in the case of Rajampet). There could also be a built in time trigger if certain phrases weren't heard or people seen within certain limits.

The triggers are probably different for each person, and adjustable.

From my reading of SoV, I thought that Harap's nanotech was on a timer, not codeworded. I don't think that Simoe has the nanotech in him.

He was guessing. I don't think it was actually stated.

If you remember, the nanotech needs to be created in advance based on each individual's DNA.

So while the triggers may be different for each person, I don't think they're easily changed. At least out in the field.
