ATST the end?

Hi I'm new and I was looking at posts and have a question? Am I the only one that thinks that the title means this is the last in the safehold books before we advance to books where the gboba are involved? If this is the case is it a bit of a sudden end? I think the way the books have been written means there should be at least 1 more book after this or it will be too cramped together.

The announced plan is that there should be one more book after ATST to round things off for 'this war' or 'this phase of the conflict' or some such phrase. Usually interpreted to mean we will get some kind of resolution, but with plenty of room for more books 'later' on the Big Reveal and its consequences i.e. another war, and possibly the Archangels' return or the awakening of whatever is beneath the Temple, NTM getting out into space and fighting the Gbaba. However, you should be aware that Our Author is not renowned for his ability to stick to such plans. The current series was originally conceived as having time passing much more quickly so that Merlin was dealing with a new generation in every book, for example.

Thanks that makes sense. It was just them name of the book and some of the poists on here had me wondering. Also yes I know Mr Weber has a little problem with sticking to plans (originally honor Harrington was meant to die about half way through the series and the books were going to carry on around the next generation) However in his defence I remember an author saying once when it comes to series you get to a point where you might want it one way but the story wants it another and you will nearly always go with the story.

Oh, I'm not complaining - just pointing out that readers also sometimes have to go with the creative flow.

I've always enjoyed following the story, whichever way the author takes it. I do music for a living and it's kind of how songs grow over time to become what they become. Time is finite unfortunately. I seem to recall Asimov's Foundation series leaving the reader hanging after Golan Trevize rescued the little Solarian girl.

I'd like to point out that the names for the books in this series come from Hymns. "At the Sign of Triumph" is the start of the second verse of "Onward Christian Soldiers"

From what I understand, the Honor Harrington series was originally supposed to be a total of 8 books....

The story will go where it goes, I just hope Mr. Weber is around to write the finish of the story, and that I'm around to read it.

I hope this book answers the questions of whats inside that temple. I wanna see what kind of tech is in there.
