Let's not forget that according to Amazon A Call to Vengeance is out in early March 2017.

baen obviously knows. would be nice if they shared that info.

Oyohan:

You are NOT allowed to criticize Baen for any reason (according to most people on this form).

As far as the book release goes, Baen will release it when they feel we are properly prepared. I am sure that the people at Baen do not feel, that you are desperate enough yet. I believe that they have some sort of hit rate target for the Baen website, that they think they need to achieve, before they decide that we are worthy of maybe getting a taste of the book.

Whatever Baen has decided their criteria is for releasing the book, the super secret criteria and time table for the book release, will not be shared with the peons.

Maybe tomorrow, maybe the day after, maybe next week.

Well it doesn't look like I am going to read it this weekend. I was hoping since they had it in there hands when they came in to work Wednesday morning that they could release the e-ARC by Friday night.

Blame it on Lacoon. The RMN has closed the damn junctions and everything has to travel the long way 'round.

Am I the only one that rather await the hardback? I like the romance of turning pages. I only get the eARC afterwards, as a convenience.

Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense

An eARC somewhere next week works considerable well for me.

Next Friday I fly to Japan, meaning I got an 11 hour timeslot with nothing to do... :D

I likewise prefer turning pages to E-books. If they both came out at the same time, I'd buy the hardback. However the E-Arc comes out months earlier, so I always grab it. I usually end up also buying the hardback as well a few months later.

If both came out at the same time, I'd get them both. In fact, I'd like to pay extra and get a bundle with the eARC included along with the hardback.

To me, reading the eARC first is like one big digital SPOILER!!! Then you go to your favorite local bookstore to get that shiny new book with its pretty cover, slowly running your hands over the cover and opening it up to smell the newness of the pages. Then you put that copy back on the shelves, having sniffed the newness out of it and grab the third or fourth one. Then someone in the store - perhaps the clerk - asks you about the book and you say something like "I've already read it." Opened my gift and enjoyed it before its time. Now its time and the bride can no longer wear white. The first time you read a hardback should be the first time you read the story. Or you've stolen your own thunder and the joys of curling up on the sofa with a virgin read while playing footsies with your wife.

I'll await the hardcover. It'll be worth it! I like the virgin grin.

Your patience and self control are admirable. Me? Not so much. I'm going to buy that E-Arc as soon as possible and read it as quickly as I can manage so I can find out what happens.
