Using SD Parts is a goal to recycle these now worthless ships into something worthwhile

Based upon the Nike Design with a few modifications

Broadside:

25 Apollo Tubes (magazines of adjustable sizes)

6 SD Grasers

4 Sets of 7 DD lasers in 2/3/2 hex cluster

32 CM

32 SD PD clusters

Fore Hammerhead:

3 SD Grasers

3 sets of 3 DD lasers

3 CM

3 SD PD Clusters

Aft Hammerhead:

3 SD Grasers

3 SD PD

3 CM

&

One Multi use Keyhole Dock
1 Keyhole II
or 1 Keyhole I and 1 LAC Shrike size
or 3 LAC Shrike size

Alternatively the rear dock can be setup to carry 28 Pods, not both

28 Mk16 pods plus 49 Apollo fired from tubes plus 1 extra EW of largest size.
This is a full long range 392 missile plus 50 missile salvo. Firing the full pod load at 75 million Km range using a ballistic phase and Apollo. followed up with whatever missiles are carried internally.

In the wall the Confederate is able to fire a full 50 extra Apollo missiles, adding 400 extra missiles to any salvo from pods. 40 Mk23 only pods for instance. Using its own Keyhole II it is able to control all 50 plus 50 additional Apollo pods another 400 missiles adding 800 total missiles to the Salvo. plus able to engage and destroy any ships that survive such engagements.

Operating with BC(P), they can multiply the fire power of the squadron, 2 BC(P) and 6 Confederate SC squadrons can fire a full load of 720 pods in a single salvo of 9,600 Mk23 missiles. All Apollo controlled. The BC(P) then withdraw to a defensive position or flee while the SC press the attack or provide covering fire as they retreat.

You forgot about doing away with all of the internal boat bays so you could mount a grav-lance armed frigate in the belly as a parasite craft and manning it with nothing but treecats and Medusans.

Why does anyone bother replying to Skimper? If it comes to that, why are there still people who haven't set him as 'ignore'?

Boredom? Now that we have an EARC coming, other threads should begin to entertain.

Uhh.... Nike's carry 6,000 Mk16's bud. Again, and again, and again, you prove you don't even read the slightest bit of Honorverse.

I refer you again, to my first reply here

In a word.... no.

In more words, stop posting ridiculousness like this please? We get it, you want to be invincible and make everyone and their entire fleet fear your single ship... go write your own book instead.

Reading Skimpers threads and the responses to them, I kind of feel like I'm watching an Email exchange between Whitehaven and Hemphill. Skimper is the Voice of the Jeune Ecôle for the forums. I wonder if Hemphill is a very distant descendant?

I wouldn't insult Sonya that way. To put it mildly Skimper is cranially rectally inverted.

The big difference is that Sonya actually had some good ideas.

...perhaps some images to go with the idea would work. You know, show how the weapons are arranged, where the missiles are stored, firing arcs, size/weight of ship, where the armor is located...
You know, things like MaxxQ does for Weber.

Seriously though, Skimper. The hard part of designing a ship isn't loading it with weapons. It's working out where everything else needs to go such as crew quarters, power systems, life-support systems, storage areas, boat bays, drive systems etc etc etc.
You don't have to do a full 3D rendering (goodness knows that I can barely put together my own artwork for my stories) but perhaps a couple of photos of pencil sketches showing placements? They don't have to be to scale (I always used squared paper for my to-scale-starship-designs as a kid) but simple lists don't convey your thoughts properly. Give us some imagery to work with. Please.

I can't write anywhere near as well as Weber
But I try nonetheless, And even do my own artwork.

Even imagery wouldn't help.... it's pretty clear he wants his launchers to be capable of full Apollo missiles (larger than standard Mark 23's), but he also wants this ship to also be capable of firing smaller missiles. That it'd be re-loaded to whatever the "mission" dictates the weapon need to be.

Except to the best of our knowledge, the only "missiles" that have some form of discarding sabot to be fired out of larger tubes... are CM's in canister. And that you're only getting between 3 and 6 CM's out per canister launch depending on the size of the tube in question. Ok, if you want to be technical, the Marine Orbital Strike platform thing we saw Terekhov use to kill OFS Brigadier Yucal at Mobius was probably launched out of a CM tube with a discarded sabot.

Otherwise, nobody launches Mk 16's out of Mk 23 tubes, nobody launches old style SDM's out of the Mk 16 tubes, etc etc. Which implies there's a helluva more than just economics of launching discarding sabot undersize missiles out of regular tubes, because yeah it is cheap, relatively speaking, to do that for space launchers.

And that's just sort of the beginning, my original rant early on pointed out the majority of the flaws, such as his mania for internal launchers capable of Apollo (not even the Invictii seem to do that yet), and that he wants two diametrically opposite sized energy weapons (SD grasers and destroyer lasers) in addition to ridiculous numbers of active missile defenses.

Even with a diagram, the whole ship boils down to "I want a cruiser that can kick the crap out of whole fleets of Invictii podnoughts, be faster than anything else in space and basically be a floating 'I win' ship" No diagram can really change that basic logic
