Good submission. I'd like to see that book. A good, healthy hardback. Special edition leather.

Son, your mother says I have to hang you. Personally I don't think this is a capital offense. But if I don't hang you, she's gonna hang me and frankly, I'm not the one in trouble. —cthia's father. Incident in ? Axiom of Common Sense

I like it. It's an amalgamation of the first and second meanings of as·pi·ra·tion coming together and producing an entirely different meaning.

Honor finally exhales after having realized most of what she aspired to do.

*This has my vote.

NOUN

1. (aspirations)
a hope or ambition of achieving something:

2. medicine: the action or process of drawing breath.

*I give your submission a 9.9 on the Olympic scale. Saving a perfect 10.0 for "Nadia Comaneci type form" of course.

I suspected you'd like that. I was thinking of the intake of breath when Honor is surprised by some devious MAlign last-gasp trick or trap at the very end, just as the GA thought they had achieved all their ambitions.

Classic bait'n'switch double meaning.

It seems I'm all too transparent, because I love it. Actually, I considered that it could have been a drawn breath in exasperation, but since it was a last book, I went with the calming exhale of completion. Of course, the final book can lead with the one and finish with the other.

Nice.

Amongst my fondest memories of grade school, I was always taught to make...

THE HONOR ROLL

Which has all kinds of hidden meanings...

THE HONOR ROLL
— Who will have the Honor of fighting against the MAlign
— Who will make Honor's fondest memories
— Who will be left alive when the dust settles
— Who will be Honor's brightest in the fight against the MAlign

I didn't know that honor roll had a military meaning as well...

honor roll

n.
A list of names of people worthy of honor, especially:
a. A list of students who have earned high grades during a specified period.

b. A list of people who have served in the armed forces.
